There is a targeted Chase Offer out on many cards that is good for $35 back on $100 or more at Carnival Cruises. If you’re booking one of those “free” cruises that I wrote about, this could come in handy for the deposit or an additional payment or two.

Quick Thoughts

Stephen alerted me to this deal and I checked my cards and didn’t find it on any of mine. However, my wife had this offer on most of her Chase cards, so YMMV.

This offer could work out well to save a nice chunk of change if you have it on a number of Chase cards and you can make multiple payments on a cruise. Personally, I’m of two minds about complicating travel protections with payments from multiple cards, but this certainly is tempting for my European cruise bookings.

A bit off topic, but I never got the free cruise offer and I submitted the “fun match” over a week ago. Did anyone have it take that long, or am I SOL?

Nate

Would purchase of Carnival gift card at its website trigger the Chase offer?

SailingDeb

I was wondering about this, also. Has anyone tried using the offer for giftcards?

Susan

Was meaning to book one of these to Norway and sat down to pull the trigger tonight. Had this offer on 5 of 6 cards. Had also purchased a $100 Carnival gift card on Amazon during the recent use 1 MR point and get 50% off Amazon promo. I decided to pay the $200 deposit plus $344 tax/fess which totaled $544. Used $100 GC plus 3 credit cards (max split payment it seemed to allow). “Saved” $50 on the GC and $105 on the Chase offers so $544 became $389. Pretty good for my free 9 day balcony cruise in June….

I got it on two cards – Hyatt personal and United business

Princess is owned by Carnival. Would this work for a Princess Cruise?

Ashley Y

Nevermind. I just read the offer “Offer not valid on Carnival Corporation sister lines.”

Mark

I have the offer on 4 of my 5 personal cards (0 for 2 business). I don’t see any language preventing me from using this offer 4 times (once per card), assuming Carnival allows split payments.

Harry

Carnival does allow split payments.

Babblespeak

Yep. It works. I’ve split payments with them to take advantage of prior Chase and AMEX offers. All Carnival cares about is if the payment goes through. Check your cruise pricing while you’re at it, and if it drops, Carnival has no problem giving you on board credits for the difference. You can do that multiple times if the cruise fare drops multiple times because of sales.
