Quick Thoughts

The Business Platinum Card changed its Dell benefit last year. It now comes with up to $150 in statement credits for your first $150 worth of Dell purchases each year, and then an additional $1,000 back after spending $5,000 at Dell in a calendar year.

I had opened a Business Platinum card a couple of months ago around tax time, and I hadn’t yet used my Dell credit, so I stacked this 10X offer and made a $150 purchase in order to earn some additional rewards. There are a couple of Amex offers out on various Amex cards that might also make for a useful stack if you need to purchase something from Dell.

Unfortunately, Dell no longer carries as many third-party items as it used to. However, there are still some things that may be of interest even if you don’t need a Dell computer. Dell sells Nintendo games, systems, and accessories. They also sell a number of different popular action cameras, like the Insta360 and various DJI products. I picked up a new DJI lavalier microphone last night. I have a cheaper set of lavalier microphones that I bought with a previous Dell credit, but I figured I would check out the DJI one and see how it compares.

We typically see elevated shopping portal rates for Dell a few times a year, so if you don’t need something right now, you may decide to hold off and wait for another opportunity.

is amex replacing the semiannual dell credit with something else on 7/1? or is it just $150 annually now and nothing else to replace it?
