Today’s Top Deal of the Day through Capital One Shopping and Capital One Offers is for Viator purchases. I’m seeing offers as high as 40% back via Capital One Shopping or 30X miles via Capital One Offers, though Stephen only sees 30% back or 25X miles, so your mileage may vary. As a reminder, Capital One Shopping is a public shopping portal that’s open to anyone, no Capital One card required (rewards are only redeemable for gift cards). Capital One Offers are shopping offers found within a Capital One credit card login.

Quick Thoughts
If you are planning on booking tours, activities, or airport transfers, these offers can certainly be quite useful. Whether you would rather earn 40% back via Capital One Shopping or 30 miles per dollar if you are a Capital One cardholder depends on how much you value the miles versus the gift card redemption options available to you. I’ve come to really like the Capital One Shopping Portal, but many readers have reported issues with purchases not tracking properly. My experience has been good, but it’s worth a mention that some swear off Capital One Shopping for less reliable tracking.
Speaking of tracking, keep in mind that Capital One Shopping offers weird tracking for travel-related purchases. My past experience with Viator has been that purchases do show up as pending within a few days rather than showing as ineligible (the way that some other travel purchases do), but your mileage may vary.
Finally, it is worth a mention that folks are sometimes targeted for higher rates when clicking through from targeted emails. If you haven’t received an email today from Capital One Shopping, it is worth clicking around to some merchant websites in the browser where you have the Capital One Shopping extension installed. Clicking around on any merchant site often triggers an email from Capital One Shopping within a few hours, and we sometimes see elevated rates in those emails. We’ve seen Viator go as high as 70% in the past.

Know any reasons why merchants would completely disappear from C1 Offers?
Viator disappeared about a month ago for me – just on C1 Offers., not C1 Shopping. It seems weird. Nothing else that I regularly click has ghosted me in the app.
Same. Not sure why my capital one offers don’t have viator anymore either. I’ve used it before but it’s gone now. Still on capital one shopping though
Hmmm – the C1 Shopping Gift Cards have been hit or miss – I know thst some of the better options have disappeared recently (Bonvoy, and I want to say some other easier to use GC Avenues -fast casual or most retail stores hold little value over HD/Lowes/Amazon).
We do multiple trips upcoming – so the Cap1 Shopping will stack nicely with Amex $40 CB on $250 (use 2X).
That said we both (P1/P2) have $100 back coming – from StubHub Home Page offer and & CSR StubHub stack) also just got targeted email offer (on webpahge had to click for hidden offer thats emailed) or $180 back on $300 for StubHub – email states offer is good thru 11:59PM 7.30.2026.
But waiting to see if AF posts on P2 card posts later this week – not sure who’s car we’ll keep vs PC -AF both hit 10.1 (but we have different closing dates two weeks apart (mine closed mid July butwe both have Travel Credits I’ve only had $5.60 post) have already used Chase Dining -GC in Portland, OR -(GC opens five locations of Sesame Collective restaurant group (was just Dolly Olive & Shalom y’all -now just later) but they have a Promo buy $100 get $25 bonus good thru Nov 15th (did a $5 test last week -meter moved last night -credit posted this AM). Bought 2X $100 – decent $250 credit for $200 – stacked with CSR credit). I digress.
Was planning on PC her card – the EDIT/CSR dining are challenging to use – 1st years been great. So if her AF doesn’t post at closing will probably quickly buy more GC and use StubHub offer.
I did have an Cap1 offer – trip tracked but not purchase – they gave me $75 vs 15K miles – I waited a few weeks past window for the CS to handle.
I am new to Capital One Shopping, so can I use the 40% off email I received for two bookings, or is it a one-time offer? Or should I use the general 35% discount if it is only a one-time reward? Thanks!
For clarity: It’s not 40% off; it is 40% back. That’s an important distinction. A $100 activity doesn’t get discounted to $60 — you pay $100 for a $100 booking now and get $40 in gift cards later.
I have used the email link for multiple bookings and never had an issue with it.
Great, thanks for the clarification, and prompt response!
What is an ‘app sale’ ? Purchase via Viator app?
Yes, I would assume that an app sale is when Viator sells you something via its app. That’s why I said I would beware of purchases on mobile — if you have the app installed, it’ll likely redirect you there. I always do shopping portal things on desktop for screenshot purposes anyway, but I would especially do that here unless you don’t have the app (or proactively uninstall it or just make sure your checkout is via mobile web browser instead).
From exclusions, what does the following phrase mean?
“…..Reserve Now-Pay Later must be paid for at least 24 hours to receive payout.”
I don’t know. I always choose the pay now option on these Viator deals. They tend to carry the same cancellation policy — up to 24hrs in advance on most things I’ve seen — and it feels more likely to track if paid for right away. That said, hotel bookings track even when paid later, so maybe pay later is fine. I think that line probably means that you need to pay at least 24hrs prior to the activity (which I think is usually the case, otherwise it would be cancelled).
There’re AMEX and Chase card linked offers out there for some extra savings.
Correct! I meant to mention that. You should definitely stack!
which cards do you see it on?
