Atmos Rewards—the loyalty program of Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines—has launched its latest Global Getaways promotion. This is an award sale that offers up to 50% off flights to select destinations on partner airlines, but you have to book within the next few days.
The Deal
- Get discounts on award flights between the US and the following cities when redeeming Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards:
- Edinburgh, Scotland – 20,000 points – Travel between January 5-February 28, 2027
- Madrid, Spain – 20,000 points – Travel between January 5-February 28, 2027
- Budapest, Hungary – 25,000 points – Travel between January 5-February 28, 2027
- Papeete, Tahiti – 25,000 points – Travel between November 1, 2026-February 28, 2027
- Rome, Italy – 25,000 points – Travel between August 1, 2026-October 23, 2026
- Osaka, Japan – 27,500 points – Travel between August 1, 2026-November 18, 2026
- Nadi, Fiji – 30,000 points – Travel between January 5-February 28, 2027
- Hong Kong, China – 34,000 points – Travel between January 5-February 28, 2027

Quick Thoughts
While the award pricing here isn’t necessarily what I’d call mind-blowing, there is some decent pricing available, especially because in many cases the associated taxes/fees will be lower than when booking with many other airline programs.
For example, 20,000 points to/from Europe is close to as low as you’ll get. It’s slightly higher than the 18,750 miles you’ll pay when taking advantage of Flying Blue Promo Rewards, but the taxes/fees should be lower.
35,000 points to/from Sydney isn’t bad either. That said, when running a quick award search I found a decent amount of availability to Sydney booked through American Airlines AAdvantage that’s also at 35,000 miles, as well as lots more for 40,000 miles.
One of the benefits of booking with Atmos Rewards is that you earn Status Points on these partner flights, even though you’re booking with points.
Note that flights have to be booked by August 8 and that the discounted pricing is valid for different travel periods depending on your destination.

Are global getaways now a monthly thing? Initially, it was either quarterly or random, but not monthly.
Yep, they used to be quarterly (but at random times each quarter), but a couple of months ago they relaunched them as monthly offers.
I don’t know Stephen. I tend to think the ability to book a flight to Japan with a free stopover in Hawaii for only 27.5k points is pretty “mind-blowing” but that’s just me.
I was booking a business class flight to BUD just this morning using Atmos on AA, though unaware of this deal. For 1-2 hours starting around 0600 CDT, it was not letting me login and/or when I could get in it would show a zero balance on my miles. It eventually resolved maybe around 0730 CDT. I tried both the desktop browser and the app with similar results. I assume that was not just me and it affected others, but not sure how to confirm it. After it resolved, I now have MKE-PHL-BUD instead of my prior MKE-DFW-HEL-BUD.
And FWIW, sometime in the last 3 years (since I last visited), AA added the only direct flight from the USA to BUD from PHL. I know there had previously been a LOT flight from JFK-BUD, but it looks to be long gone.
No business Class awards?
Unfortunately not – Global Getaways are always only in economy.
