Amazon Prime Day Deals For 2021

Update 6/21/21: We have added many deals that are now live (along with Nick’s commentary on many of them) to Stephen’s original post here on ways to save. New deals will continue to be added at the top of each section (and be sure to scroll beyond the item-specific deals to find discount codes, points deals, etc — including 10% back with the Point Debit Card, which is a welcome sight for those who opened that card last week.

Amazon Prime Day is being held this year from June 21-22. As with previous years, some of those deals have started early, so you can find a list of those below.

We’ll continue updating this post with new deals as they come along, especially once Prime Day officially starts on Monday June 21.

Amazon Prime Day 2021 deals

Amazon / Alexa-enabled devices

• Facebook Portal – Smart Video Calling 10” Touch Screen Display with Alexa for $99.
• Blink Mini – Compact indoor plug-in smart security camera, 1080 HD video, night vision, motion detection, two-way audio, Works with Alexa for $19.99. Seems like a great price for a camera with 2-way audio. Note that it is $14.99 when you order with Alexa.
• Fire HD 10 Plus tablet, 10.1″, 1080p Full HD, 32 GB, latest model for $107.99
• Ring Video Doorbell Wired bundle with Echo Show 5 for $64.99. At just $5 more than the doorbell alone, you also get an Echo Show (ordinarily $45 on its own)
• Fire TV Stick 4K streaming device with Alexa Voice Remote (includes TV controls) | Dolby Vision for $24.99 (I imagine this could be convenient for travel if you like to use the hotel TV with your streaming accounts)
• Fire HD 8 Kids tablet, 8″ HD display, ages 3-7, 32 GB, Blue Kid-Proof Case for $69.99. There is also a 10″ version for $119.99. I bought this for my son last fall and it seems pretty indestructible so far. Note that this is a regular Fire HD 8 wrapped up in a kids’ package: the only things that make this a “kids” version is the big blue case and the ability to set a child’s profile. It also comes with a year of Amazon Kids+ and a 2-year guarantee for replacement if your kid manages to break it. If you don’t need the extra kiddie features, the regular Fire HD 8 (same product without the “kids” add-ons), is on sale for $44.99.
• Echo Frames (2nd Gen) | Smart audio glasses with Alexa | Classic Black for $174.99. I really don’t understand this product. I own a set of Google Glass, but without the ability to see anything in the glasses, I just don’t understand the advantage here over wireless earbuds or holding your phone in your hand. That said, if you have vision insurance that will reimburse the cost of the frames, maybe they’re a fun toy.

Gift Card Deals

Products

• GoPro HERO8 Black Retail Bundle – Includes HERO8 Black Camera Plus Shorty, Head Strap, 32GB SD Card, and 2 Rechargeable Batteries for $279.99. I enjoy having a GoPro for wide angle pics and video when traveling. This is a great deal on the bundle – the camera alone is $299.99 right now. According to CamelCamelCamel, this is the lowest it has ever been and the bundle typically goes for $350+.
• Xbox Series S for $299.99. This is list price, but apparently tough to find in stock. It is in stock as I write this.
• Step2 Infalatable bouncers (check out this one and this one). These look like a lot of fun. We have several Step2 products that we’ve purchased secondhand that each seem built to last for years. I have no experience with their bounce houses, but I’d be more apt to try one of these than another brand.
• Shure AONIC 215 True Wireless Sound Isolating Earbuds for $139.00. This looks like a great price. I have no experience with Shure headphones, but I’ve always loved their microphones.
• Steelcase Gesture Chair, Graphite for $804 after Prime Day savings. Stack it like this: Purchase through the app to trigger the coupon for $70 off a future purchase (found under promotional credits below) and check out using the Point Debit Card for $50 back in points to put the “net” cost around $680. Alternatively, see the Crandall Office Furniture deal in our non-Amazon Prime Day deals to buy the same chair remanufactured (and with a 12-year wannaty from Crandall) for $594 after coupon.
• Boudreaux’s Butt Paste Maximum Strength Diaper Rash Ointment, 14 oz Jar for $11.02 after 20% Prime Day savings (or as $8.82 with subscribe & save). Other sizes are also 20% off for Prime Day.
• 2020 Apple iPad Air (10.9-inch, Wi-Fi, 64GB) – Space Gray (4th Generation) for $519.99
• Amazon Basics Unscented Dog Poop Bags with Dispenser and Leash Clip, Standard and EPI Additive for $12.11. These are obviously marketed to pet owners, but those of us parents who live in states that have eliminated plastic bags may also find a roll of these really handy to keep in the diaper bag. Just sayin’.
• Anker Powerhouse 200, 213Wh/57600mAh Portable Rechargeable Generator Clean & Silent 110V AC Outlet/USB-C Power Delivery/USB/12V Car Outlets, for Fast Charging, Camping, Emergencies, CPAP, and More for $169.99. Here’s something I didn’t know I needed until right now.
• Garmin smart watches up to 30% off. I still use my Samsung Gear S3, but if I wanted a dedicated fitness watch some of these look like great options.

• Sony noise-cancelling wireless earbuds for $148 new, but great deal with the Warehouse Deals discount right now from $65.58
• LectroFan Evo White Noise Sound Machine with 22 Unique Non-Looping Fan & White Noise Sounds & Sleep Timer for $27.99 – price shows up at checkout. I own 2 of these in a different variation. I paid full price ($39.99) for at least one and would do so tomorrow if one of ours died. If you know someone who is expecting a baby, buy this for them. They may not know they need it, but they do. Pro tip: wait three weeks after birth to give it to them so they can fully appreciate why it was such an amazing gift.
• Apple TV 4K 32GB
• OnePlus 8 Glacial Green,​ 5G Unlocked Android Smartphone for $349.99 (My primary phone is a Pixel 4a 5G, but I also own this phone and mostly use it as a dedicated hotspot, though it occasionally sees day-to-day use. The camera is a little disappointing, but the phone otherwise has a great large screen and functions very smoothly for this price point. For what it’s worth, I got it on T-Mobile post paid for the same price after bill credits, but this is a better deal since you will own it outright and it will be unlocked).
• Big discounts on Instant Pot Cookers. We own one of these and don’t use it as well as Stephen Pepper does, but we’ve been pretty happy with the purchase.
• Dan’s Deals notes that there are many Chromebooks on sale. I briefly went Chromebook-only and would likely still be using a Chromebook only if not for one windows program that I use now to take screen shots. If I could find a similar tool for the Chromebook (that would let me select exactly the section of screen I want for a screen shot) or didn’t need that tool, I’d probably go back to all-Chromebook-all-the-time.
• Funko Pan Am The Game for $17.10. This is another one that came from Dan’s Deals and it sounds like fun.
• Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit -Mario Set – Nintendo Switch Mario Set Edition for $74.99. Note that at the time of writing you can alternatively buy Used-Like New from Amazon Warehouse deals for $53.43 after today’s 25% off.
• Coravin Model Three Advanced — Wine Preservation System — Bottle Opener, Needle Pourer, Aerator, and Wine Saver for $104.97. If you’ve gotten in on all of the recent wine deals, this might be worth the investment.
• DEERC RC Cars Stunt Cars Remote Control Car Toys, 4WD Off Road Dual Color Headlights Double Sided Rotating 360° Flips Vehicles for $22.39 or Used-Good for $10.83. Totally worth ten bucks. This thing is hard to control (no way my 3yr old can do it), but fun and it comes with two rechargeable batteries.
