One unmentioned difference–the Amex Platinum easily lets you get paper statements, while Robinhood forces you to do everything in their app. You can’t get paper statements, even if you want them. I have a lot of credit cards, and without paper statements, I am going to forget what is going on with some of them.

Although it was good to know that the Robinhood card is better in case of a war … 🙂

The Amex Platinum is the card the Robinhood Platinum wants to be when it grows up. I have the RH Gold and the Amex Platinum. There is no way on this earth I would even consider the RH Platinum. It has less benefits than the Amex Platinum and, you cannot have both RH Gold and RH Platinum. No doubt why they are only targeting heavy gold spenders right now. They’ll sace a ton on cashback and the annual goes from $50 on Gold to $650 on Platinum. Not sure honestly why anyone would want the card. $250 more a year you can move to Amex Platinum assuming you qualify and get thousands back in rewards.

You went way over 20 minutes just running through the lists of coupons on two cards. Welcome to 2026.

Oof. Amex. Not even close.

Indeed.
