This is a handy offer if you’re planning on booking paid airfare with Cathay Pacific. The $150 statement credit should also get triggered when booking award flights using Asia Miles if the taxes and fees total $1,000 or more and are charged in US dollars rather than HK dollars. This Amex Offer is valid on one or more transactions, so it won’t matter if you’re booking flights for two or more people and payment for each person’s ticket is processed separately.

Something important to be aware of is that flights have to originate in the US. That means one way flights departing the US or round trip flights where the first flight departs from the US are eligible but not, say, a one way flight from Hong Kong to the US.
