When Chase announced last year that they’d be launching an Air Canada Aeroplan credit card, they opened pre-registration for the card a few months beforehand.
They advised that pre-registering would unlock an additional bonus once the card launched, but at first they didn’t disclose what that bonus would be. They subsequently advised that those who pre-registered would earn the following:
- 10,000 bonus points
- 10 eUpgrade credits.
In order to earn that additional waitlist bonus, customers had to apply by February 15, 2022. Well, it’s now February 15 and as a belated Valentine’s Day gift, Chase has extended the application deadline to March 31, 2022.
That could be particularly useful for anyone who’s still interested in getting the Aeroplan card but needed to wait up to 6 weeks after February 15 in order to fall below 5/24.
Chase's 5/24 Rule: With most Chase credit cards, Chase will not approve your application if you have opened 5 or more cards with any bank in the past 24 months. To determine your 5/24 status, see: 3 Easy Ways to Count Your 5/24 Status. The easiest option is to track all of your cards for free with Travel Freely. |
Note that this extension is only available if you pre-registered for the additional bonus last year. If you missed out on that opportunity, you’ll only be eligible for the standard welcome offer without the additional 10,000 bonus points and 10 eUpgrade credits.
