Delta Flash Sale: 5k to Bogota, Panama, Miami and more

Dans Deals reports a Delta award sale between “several US cities and many Mexico/Caribbean/Central America/South America destinations from just 5K miles each way!”  In the details of this post, Dan lists cheap award prices from/to JFK and many southern destinations.  It’s unclear which other US cities are part of this sale, but I did find cheap fares from Newark and the DC area.  When searching for these one-way award fares, make sure to select “Price Calendar” to see prices for a month at a time.

Its worth noting that Basic Economy Delta awards are freely changeable and cancelable for flights that complete within 2021.  Flights booked into regular economy and higher are freely changeable and cancelable any time.

Also note that Delta awards earn towards elite status in 2021 and 2022, and qualify for Status Accelerators in 2021.

When searching for awards, by calendar view, it can benefit you to look at Basic Economy, Economy, and Comfort+ separately.  Sometimes we’ve seen Comfort+ pricing less than Economy; and now I found a case where regular Economy priced cheaper than Basic Economy.  Check out the second result in the search for flights from NYC to Panama, here:
