Delta launched a three day award sale yesterday which has some award pricing that could be decent. Depending on your origin and destination airport, you can book round trip flights to the Bahamas or Mexico from 12,000 SkyMiles, as well as to Europe and back again for 40,000 SkyMiles.
If you have an eligible Delta credit card, you’ll also save 15% on this award pricing which makes it even better value.

As mentioned above, the award pricing with this flash sale varies depending on where you’re flying from and to. The pricing is also for round trip flights rather than just one way pricing.
If flying from Miami, you can fly to Tulum, Mexico for 12K SkyMiles. New York to Nassau, Bahamas can be had for 12,200 SkyMiles, Chicago to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic from 14,300 SkyMiles, Los Angeles to Montego Bay, Jamaica from 18K SkyMiles, and more.
If you’re interested in crossing the Atlantic, it seems like most cities in the US can get you to many cities in Europe for only 40K SkyMiles round trip.
Note that the pricing listed above is for Main Basic. That’ll get you a carry on and a personal item, but no seat selection, you’ll be last to board, etc. Main Classic is on sale too, although at a premium miles-wise. Still, that might be worth it for trips to Europe seeing as that’ll include a checked bag.
Remember that most Delta credit cards now offer a 15% discount on award bookings. That’ll drop 12K flights to 10,200 SkyMiles, 40K flights to 34K, etc. Be sure to compare those award fares and their taxes and fees to cash pricing, but this flash sale combined with an additional 15% discount could make for a decent deal.

Odd to see Delta and decent deal in the same sentence
If you actually dig into these “deals”, they are still pretty uninspiring compared to most other programs. The only way these are actually deals is if you have a whole stash of Skymiles just lying around, you are extremely flexible with when you can travel, and you are willing to travel to Europe in economy. Even then, a lot of these fares still have a relatively high cash component.
I haven’t seen a truly great Skymiles award sale from Delta since before the pandemic.
