Quick Thoughts

OK, so $7,000+ is a lot of money to drop in order to earn 70,000 bonus SkyMiles and so is in no way worth mileage + mattress running for, but if you were going to be spending that much with Delta Vacations anyway then it’s a fantastic bonus.

Even at the lower spending levels the returns are pretty good. For example, spending $1,500 and earning 20,000 bonus miles is a good return or 5,000 miles if you manage to find a cheap flight + hotel package is a nice little bonus.

As an alternative, you can choose to use the SMDOLLARS promo code to get cash savings instead, but the value of those savings is less than half the value of taking the bonus miles if you value SkyMiles at greater than 1cpp.

If you’re considering paying cash for flights and hotels, it’s certainly worth checking Delta Vacations. During a previous promotion I checked prices on some packages and was surprised at how good the pricing was compared to booking the flights and hotels separately. I’m not sure if that’s still the case, but it’s worth checking your dates to see what’s on offer.

I used the SMBONUS for a 4500.00 trip and the 40K miles have never hit my account. I’m getting nowhere with Delta or Delta Vacations but still working on it. I have diamond medallion status and absolutely love Delta. I’m a bit frustrated at the moment.

Mary

Good luck using the credits! I spent 8 hours on hold to book a reservation this week over 2 days. No way am I going to be able to spend all credits if it takes this long to book them.

Robert Bradley

can i spend my delta vacations travel voucher and get any benefits from this promotion?

Elizabeth

I’m wondering the same thing. I booked a delta vacations trip to Scotland with skymiles back when they had a promo going on. The trip got cancelled due to covid and they issued a $3400 voucher. The terms don’t seem to specifically exclude vouchers but I’m still wondering if it would work.

Greg The Frequent Miler

I expect so. I can’t think of any reason that applying the voucher for payment would disqualify you.
