DoubleTree Amex Offer Spend $225 Get $45

Quick Thoughts

If you manage to book a stay at a DoubleTree property that costs exactly $225 with tax, this Amex Offer will save you 20%. In reality, it’s unlikely that you’ll get lucky enough to spend that exact amount and so your percentage savings will be less.

Still, getting $45 off your stay is a nice discount. If you have a partner who also has this offer on one of their cards and you’ll be booking a stay costing $450+, you can ask the property to split the cost of your stay on two cards in order to get two credits of $45.

As always with these Amex Offers for Hilton brands, be aware that Advance Purchase rates won’t trigger the statement credit for the offer. This particular offer is also only valid at DoubleTree properties in the US and US territories.

If you’ll be staying before September 5, be sure to register for their current double/triple points promotion. If possible, try loading this DoubleTree Amex Offer to a card that already has the 5%/7%/10% Hilton Amex Offer loaded to it if you were targeted for a version of that as they’ll stack with each other.

Depending on which card(s) you find this Amex Offer on, you might want to hold off on loading it to any of your cards. I had it on a number of Membership Rewards-earning cards, but not on any of my Hilton cards. However, these types of Amex Offers for Hilton brands often show up on the Amex Connect site a few days after they first appear on Amex cards. It’s sometimes possible to then add the offer to a Hilton card even if it wasn’t initially targeted for the offer, so that would mean you could save $45 while also earning up to 14x Hilton Honors points which would be the ideal situation. The risk with waiting to load the offer is that enrollment is limited, so it’s possible that not loading it to a card right now will mean it’s not available later on if it doesn’t show on the Amex Connect site. Update: Sure enough, the offer is now available on Amex Connect.

The offer is now on Amex Connect, but when I tried to enter my Surpass and Hilton no fee cards, it says that I need to go to my account, and load the offer, but it isn’t there. What to do?

How strict are they on reserving via doubletree.com instead of hilton.com where you can use a shopping portal to get extra cash/points back?
