Update 7/10/26: Unfortunately, we’ve now received numerous reader reports that AA is clawing back the 25,000 bonus miles it awarded under this promo and replacing them with 5,000 miles instead. This is even happening to people who had already transferred the miles out to their personal account.
This may not happen for everyone, but it will likely be most folks’ fate. Sigh.

Update 7/9/26: Numerous reader reports in the comments say the bonus points are no longer posting, so this deal sadly seems to be dead.
~~
American Airlines is running a generous promotion at the moment, offering 25,000 bonus AAdvantage miles when you join AAdvantage Business and use promo code JOINA7.
Unfortunately, most one-person operations won’t be eligible, as the business must have at least five active travelers and spend at least $5,000 in a calendar year to trigger the bonus miles. However, a reader has confirmed that if you have the Citi® / AAdvantage Business™ World Elite Mastercard®, that waives those requirements and you’ll be eligible for the 25K miles.

The Deal
- Earn 25,000 American Airlines miles when you join AAdvantage Business and use promo code JOINA7.
- Direct link to offer.
Key Terms
- This is an exclusive offer available only to eligible businesses that successfully register in the AAdvantage Business program using promo code JOINA7 during the promotion period.
- This offer ends on July 31, 2026 at 11:59 PM CDT. All enrollments received after this date will not be eligible for the bonus miles offer.
- Each business is eligible for only one (1) enrollment bonus mile offer.
- Existing AAdvantage Business program members are not eligible for this offer.
- Enrollment bonus of 25,000 AAdvantage miles will be deposited to the eligible AAdvantage Business account within six (6) to eight (8) weeks following the successful enrollment in the AAdvantage Business program.
- AAdvantage Business members must meet program activity requirements to access bonus and earned program miles – including the bonus miles associated with this enrollment offer. The minimum requirements are 5 active travelers and $5,000 USD in eligible program travel from the active travelers in a calendar year. See AAdvantage Business Terms & Conditions for more details.
- All miles awarded in connection with this promotion will be bonus miles. Bonus miles do not count toward AAdvantage status qualification or AAdvantage Million Miler status.
- Bonus miles are subject to the AAdvantage program terms and conditions.
- This offer may not be combined with any other AAdvantage Business promotional enrollment offer. Only one enrollment promotional offer may be applied per eligible enrollment.
Quick Thoughts
At first glance, this seemed like a ridiculously generous offer, as the email from American Airlines initially made it seem like you’d get 25,000 bonus miles just for registering for the program. Sadly, that’s not the whole story based on the full terms and conditions.
That’s because you have to meet the program’s standard requirements to trigger the bonus. That involves having at least five active travelers and the business spending at least $5,000 in a calendar year.
However, reader Andrew has confirmed that if you have the Citi®/AAdvantage Business™ World Elite Mastercard®, those requirements are waived, and the 25K bonus miles will be awarded instantly. That makes this a no-brainer deal if you have that card.

y’all done got the RAT treatment
the insane travel influencer ecosystem has produced so many n00bs born yesterday. only OGs understand not to mess w/ AA revenue protection. i can only imagine all these 25k accnts have been tagged as “gamers”. i would totally stop all stupid activity ASAP.
Just received an email that they’re reversing the 25k and adding 5k for inconvenience. And for folks who already transferred to personal, they’re reversing that too.
Boooo!
My 25K from yesterday has been removed. And now it shows 5K. I even have a screenshot i sent to my friend from yesterday. What to make of this!!
Me too: the 25k credit still shows in history, but the account balance has been reduced by around 20,000 – the remaining ‘addition’ is not even exactly 5,000.
Where can you see miles activity in the business account page?
I managed to grab 25k early yesterday morning, like 5am cst on 7-9-26, but it was barely working then. I’m thinking it might be good to transfer these out to one of your travelers on your business account in case they try to claw them back.
A general reminder that having zero balance doesn’t prevent a clawback. Your miles can go negative, effectively becoming a balance due.
Just created a new biz account (with existing biz card), no points have posted
Dead
This appears to no longer be working,
I agree. Both P2 and I have the AA biz cards and none of our accounts got a pts boost after adding the promo code.
Can I do this today and just wait until I get a new AA biz card to transfer them to my personal account? I’m @41 months, so need to wait until early next year to churn.
Received the 25k miles in p2 account, he doesn’t have the biz card anymore. Any ideas how to get the miles to me? I tried to add myself as traveler, the site isn’t working, error for now…will that work without the card?
I was able to get 50k total for P2 and I. Transferred into AA account immediately. Woo hoo!
Just got 25K miles for both P1 and P2. We both have the AA Business card.
I clicked the link above. Since I already have the card, I already had an account. I signed in to the business account, went to Settings, and at the bottom of the page there was a Promo Code field. I entered the promo code and clicked Save. Then I went back to the home page, refreshed the browser, and boom – 25K miles.
That’s awesome news – thanks for confirming that. I’ll update the post.
What a killer comment – worked for me too! Thanks so much! FM community always looking out for each other.
Just want to confirm that it worked for me too!
Yes thank you for the instructions – confirmed it worked for me as well, 25,000 added to my business account
I am having hard time finding settings when I’m logged in to my business account. Were you able to do this on your phone? Or should I get my laptop out and see if it’s easier to find on my laptop?
I would use laptop
Andrew is the real hero here! I thought I was out of luck and then read this comment. Went in to my business account and not only did I easily claim the 25k bonus, I also found I had over 30k points in the account waiting to be transferred out. WINNING!!!
Thank you!! It worked for me as well 🙂
Thank you so much, this also worked for me!!
I tried this on both our accounts and it didn’t work on either 🙁
This didn’t work for me. It said my account already existed and to delete it (I only had 5 miles), so I proceeded to do so. Alas, tried to register again and didn’t work.
Unfortunately didn’t work for me. Have an existing account from Barclay converted to Citi Business. Did not see any deposit of points. Maybe there’s a differentiation btwn legacy Citi Business AA vs converted Barclay AA Business
I followed these steps:
-Login to website: https://aadvantagebusiness.aa.com/
-Settings -> Promotional Codes field
JOINA7
-Hit Save
Screenshot:
But this didn’t give me the 25k miles instantly.
Am I supposed to use this link instead? https://aadvantagebusiness.aa.com/aa/onboarding/company/gettingstarted.html
I see no mention of the 25K offer using the link in this post.
There’s no specific landing page for the offer – you just have to ensure you use the promo code when signing up.
same. now need to figure out how to pool my personal and biz points
From the terms:
These requirements are waived for Citi® / AAdvantage Business℠ World Elite Mastercard® cardmembers.
Would this not apply to the signup bonus as well?
