Some American Express cardholders are being targeted with a Viator Amex Offer that’s giving $40 back as a statement credit when spending $250 or more.

Quick Thoughts
If you were to book an activity that costs exactly $250, the $40 statement credit means you’d be getting 16% back. That’s twice as good as the Viator Chase Offer that’s giving an 8% statement credit, but this Amex Offer requires at least $250 spend in a single transaction, whereas that Chase Offer is valid for any amount of spend up to $125.
This Amex Offer can be used twice in order to earn up to $80 in statement credits. What I’m not sure about is if a $500 purchase would trigger both statement credits, or if you’d need to spend $250+ in two separate transactions in order to earn a total of $80 back.
Be sure to note that you have to spend $250 in a single transaction. Many Amex Offers get triggered by cumulative spending across two or more purchases, but this isn’t one of them.
It’s often possible to get very generous rewards for Viator via shopping portals, especially Capital One Shopping. If you’re not currently targeted for an increased offer, browse Viator with the Capital One Shopping browser extension installed and hopefully within hours you’ll get a targeted email offering a higher rate.

Yawn. Why are we using 3rd party websites with extreme markups? Ask chat for local providers, vet them and book direct. Heck the providers are even listed on the viator website in plain sight. Unless you have extreme stacking or a wild cap one offer, it’s generally not worth it.
My offer was “Spend $100 or more, earn $15 back, up to 2 times (total of $30).” – On the Delta Gold Business card.
Spending $500 won’t trigger both $40 offers. It has to be two separate purchases of $250 each.
Note that Viator is the Capital One Shopping featured merchant on Monday, July 27th so probably worth waiting until then to use.
I got an offer for $60 off $350. And I just saw it this evening after I bought a tour today to get the Rakuten 20x deal. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t available this morning. Oh well.
