Update: There are some major restrictions on the retailers and types of transactions that this promotion can be used for now. Check out this post and this post for more details.

If the recent promotion to earn additional points for purchases paid for with payment platform Paze was not yet enough to interest you in checking out the platform, there’s a new promotion out now whereby you can get $10 back on $10 or more, up to $100 back on every eligible card you have (which includes both credit and debit cards across most of the major banks and many credit unions and other financial institutions).

I imagine that will make Paze wildly more popular because not only do you have the opportunity to potentially earn additional points per dollar on select cards, but you have the opportunity to get $100 back on a wide range of cards that you probably already have in your wallet.
You’ll have to check eligibility for your own cards in your bank’s mobile app, but participating financial institutions include:
- Bank of America
- Capital One
- Chase
- City Elan
- PNC
- Truist
- US Bank
- Wells Fargo
- and more
Paze is a payment platform similar to PayPal. At select merchants, during the checkout process, you’ll see Paze as a payment method option. Only a limited number of merchants accept Paze so far, but with Paze coming from the same company behind Zelle, that will likely continue to expand. Some sites like Newegg accept Paze and sell many third-party gift cards, which could certainly make this useful. In fact, Dan’s Deals has identified a range of merchants for whom it is possible to purchase $10 gift cards, which will surely make this promotion very useful for folks who don’t mind dealing with numerous small-denomination gift cards. I expect that some of those $10 gift cards may sell out sooner rather than later, so if you’re interested in taking advantage of this, it’s probably worth considering that list while you can. I also imagine that loading your Dunkin’ account in the Dunkin’ app should work if you’re able to check out with Paze, though I haven’t checked to see if that’s possible in my app.
I did see the $10 back on $10 reflected when using Paze to check out at Newegg just now (I bought a $10 Uber gift card).

In an email from a marketing representative, City Experiences was highlighted as a participating merchant. I hadn’t heard of City Experiences before, but it appears to be a tour booking website (think Viator, but with a website that looks much less modern). Unfortunately, it seems to only be available in select cities; however, there are experiences that start at just over $10. It’s certainly possible that you’ll find something relatively inexpensive to do if you need additional ideas for using credits.
Overall, this certainly seems like quite an incentive to give the Paze payment platform a try. I tend to avoid most third-party digital wallets, particularly because there are times when they interfere with card-linked offers. However, I’ll certainly be checking Paze out now.

None of my Chase cards or other cc’s show up on the Paze site with the exception of Capital One Venture X card.
I tried following the method on their site to add other institutions but once I put in my credentials on chase it just takes me to my chase account and doesn’t connect with the Paze account.
Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like FM could’ve done a better job highlighting this opportunity earlier. I finally understood what it was when listening to the podcast. I was able to take advantage of some of the pathways before they were nerfed, but perhaps would’ve had more time if it were clearer what was possible on the front end. Just a thought.
We always appreciate feedback. We published this post the day this deal launched, included a link to Dan’s Deals (where he listed merchants that sell gift cards), and mentioned in the post that I bought a $10 Uber gift card from Newegg. I tried to be pretty clear that this was a terrific deal — do you have a suggestion as to how we could have better highlighted it for you?
Thanks, Nick! I always appreciate the FM team being open to feedback. I think a few things contributed to the confusion on my end. The original headline didn’t make it immediately obvious that gift cards were the core opportunity. I understood it as a general Paze cashback promo and didn’t connect the dots that the real value was essentially free money via $10 gift card purchases. Then when I saw the “Paze in a Daze” post about Newegg being cut off, I assumed the meaningful opportunity was gone. And when the Clover post went up, the headline read to me more like optimizing rewards stacking than signaling that gift cards were still a live option at some restaurants. I only put it all together after listening to the podcast. A note in the headline of this or the Clover post that gift cards were an opportunity probably would’ve helped me understand this earlier.
I can understand what you mean there. The flip side of that is that a headline like “free $10 gift cards on all of your credit cards” is likely to kill a deal like that prematurely, severely limiting the usefulness of the post or at least the number of readers who are able to use the information within the post to their benefit.
We do aim to write useful headlines that include a lot of the key information, and in this case, I certainly expected that a headline indicating you can get $100 back on each of your eligible credit cards would be enough to communicate that it was a deal worth reading about. And obviously, at least in your case, that didn’t draw you in to read the whole post.
But, for what it’s worth, I tried to title it in a way that would communicate to me that this is something worth reading about. I didn’t intend to include the whole story in the headline because I didn’t think this deal would last very long, but I wanted to make sure that as many readers as possible would be able to take advantage if they read the post.
Again, we certainly aim to include key information in headlines. When it’s something easy like a 20% discount on vacation packages with a promo code, you can probably get the majority of the story from the headline. That said, if you’re only reading headlines, the truth is that you are going to miss a lot of great deals because the best deals are often found within the details of a post, either because they are a little bit more complicated than a headline would accommodate or they won’t last long enough to be useful to many with headline exposure. And in a case where we can probably agree that the folks who designed the promotion probably hadn’t considered carefully enough how the promotion would play out, it often isn’t hard to imagine a promo like this being pulled or changed in short order, so it made more sense to me to keep the details in the body and leave it to the reader to run with it.
But I do appreciate the feedback. We do put thought into stuff like that, so I appreciate you sharing your feelings about it.
I totally understand and considered that calculus as well in terms of trying to not contribute to killing the deal. I certainly appreciate how you all are thoughtful about that. Perhaps maybe something in the parentheses along the lines of “gift card opportunities available” instead of “stack with extra points” would’ve helped me understand that was a possibility and I would’ve explored options sooner. On my end, the stackable nature of it wasn’t really a draw given the smaller value of the transactions, but I understand how it would be to some people.
Ultimately, I found it interesting the degree to which you and Greg went into detail about it on the podcast compared to what I didn’t understand from the headlines as they were coming into my inbox. Perhaps I was just not so lucky in the timeframe of taking advantage of the arbitrage opportunity.
In any case, I appreciate that I was able to learn about it from you guys and take advantage of it to some degree before some avenues got nerfed. And it’s a good reminder of why I listen to the podcast even though I get emails for every post since I still miss some things/context.
UPDATE: Newegg just (after 6:30 EDT sometime) stopped allowing you to use Paze for native Newegg GCs
I guess the best loophole is shut down unless you’re a big time Dunkin addict
There are no Dunkin’s were I live. I got some credit for travel purposes, but it’s not really a frequent thing for me.
I got to $6500 in gift cards yesterday before they closed off the paze option for New egg.
I knew once the normie blogs like FM and others started posting it would die quick lol
Congrats to everyone who knew to jump on it yesterday and not wait! Still have another $3000 left so I guess I gotta creative now.
Help me with the math: if you bought exclusively $10 gift cards, did you have 65 eligible credit cards … and 30 more to go? Friends and family cards?
Not entirely. I think maybe 20% or less of what I did was $10 gift cards.
The majority was $15-$25 gift cards from DoorDash, Airbnb, Home Depot, Hotels.com etc.
By $6500 I meant the credits from Paze.
I have roughly around 100 cards between me and P2. Including Debit cards.
Assuming you must be doing resale on these cards as that is alot of GC to use?
Nah. Just using them for things I would/will be paying for already.
Just an extra bonus of technically free cash on top with all the credits.
Gift card reselling is meh, I know people like it due to the ease and simplicity in the arbitrage, but it’s very entry level and usually not worth the time compared to other more lucrative/higher volume methods. IMO.
Well, I really hope Paze signs up some more useful merchants fore this promo ends.
I’m still able to buy Newegg $10 GCs with PAZE as of 11:40 am PT Tuesday 6/16
At this moment Tue 6/16 @1330 CST tried to make my first purchase on NewEgg for $10 Uber GC and at checkout it explicitly states that PAZE is not an available payment option “for this purchase” (apple wallet and PayPal are … )
Comments immediately below yours. They stopped taking it today.
Looks like Newegg has stopped taking Paze for $10 cards. Dunkin’ app works though.
Newegg appears to have stopped taking Paze for gift cards period. I was trying to max out the 10x offer on Airbnb and they won’t take Paze for any value I have tried.
This. The $10 gift card craze nerfed the potentially more valuable $500 x 3 [Airbnb] gift cards for the extra 10x points. Pretty annoying.
No kidding, I was looking forward to getting a year’s worth of Airbnb, Instacart, Doordash gift cards for the extra 10x points but now it’s over. Penny wise…
Totally. Was getting ready to do the Airbnb gift cards, just didn’t pull the trigger yet. Just another lesson with this game – get in when the getting is good. Oh well – I guess best I can regularly do for now is AARP Airbnb $475 for $500, good for $ savings, bad for points.
I just tried also, I couldn’t purchase any gift card, I added a laptop in to the cart to see if Paze worked for that purchase and it did.
I did 4 gc’s with the Dunkin app then it stopped working. Can’t do reloads either
They’ll still let you buy direct Newegg GCs. Just no 3rd party
Do note you can’t use Newegg credit on 3rd party GCs, so you’d have to actually buy something real from Newegg
Newegg GCs are pretty well run and organized though, so it’s not unpleasant to use them on big purchases later.
The deal for chase is now ending June 30th. Saw this on Danny the Deal Guru today.
FWIW: when I activated my Chase cards, the Paze app already had Capital One and Citi cards in the wallet (even though I didn’t activate them).
Deal of the year frontrunner. I have done 10x$10 at dunkin on 3 separate chase cards, 30 total. No issues so far.
well the potential “issue” is yet to be determined as we will see in a few statement periods whether Paze actually pays up or not! It says it will take up to 2 statement credits for the credit to post.
(I’ve also done 25 of these so far)
100%. I already spend too much money at Dunkin, so only upside on my end
I managed to do 10.
i just received the last 6 I did this morning.
I guess Dunkin it is until the 30th.
Just getting around to learning about this now, even though it’s a little bit late. Is this something that you pay the $10 upfront and wait for a credit from Paze/chase?
If it was $10 off immediately, I’d have no problem rushing in, but worry that I’d end up buying a bunch of stuff that I don’t need and then have trouble getting reimbursed with credits
Fanatics starting rejecting mine after the first one. Anyone else have this?
same. got one, waited for it to arrive, tried for a second, rejected.
anyone else having a issue “opening” a paze account for P2? what i mean is that none of P2’s cards are being recognized after entering in our phone numbers/emails.
I have the reverse problem! I entered in my email, and it accessed P2’s accounts! I can’t get at my cards in Paze – not through my phone number, either. Haven’t been able to figure it out.
Been buying Uber GCs at NewEgg.
i’ve linked my chase cards to Paze (on the chase side) but it doesnt show up in my wallet on the paze side.
any ideas?
Don’t hit it to hard I just got suspended for 24 hours. Email states I don’t need to do anything it will be reinstated after 24 hours.
I was on my 15th purchase reference for datapoint.
Suspended by Paze or Newegg or …?
The suspension came from Paze.
I also was suspended for 24 hours after buying 10 gift cards. each Uber and Panera
I’m wondering why some people got suspended so fast. I went through ~70 purchases within about 2 hours without a hiccup
Thats a good question. I’m not entirely sure other than I was hammering one after another. As of right now I received 4 GC and the remaining were canceled by newegg. My Paz wallet is still suspended 24 hours ends arournd 9:30pm ct. I’ll try again at that time but not sure what I’ll send $10 on as it looks like Newegg has blocked Pax.
