After being stuck firmly at 60K for nearly all of 2026, the Hawaiian Airlines Mastercard issued by Bank of Hawai’i has a new welcome offer that lets you earn a total of 70,000 Atmos Points after just $2,000 in purchases within the first 180 days. (h/t: MEAB)
The bonus is broken up into two tiers: 60K after $1K in purchases within the first 90 days, then an additional 10K after a total of $2K in spend within the first 180 days.

Quick Thoughts
There have traditionally been two “versions” of the Hawaiian Airlines credit card: Barclays and Bank of Hawai’i. We originally anticipated that both would go away once Hawaiian merged with Alaska Airlines under Atmos Rewards. However, it appears they will remain for some time, although each version has been strangely MIA for long stretches over the last few months (including the Barclays card now).
While this offer is very good, especially given the spend, it’s worth noting that there are currently links to a 100k offer for the Atmos Summit card and 85k offers on both the Atmos Ascent and Atmos Business cards.

While there may be links to the Atmos cards from BofA, they have tightened up their lending requirements a LOT lately. BofA seems to mostly deny (not always, but the vast majority of the time) you if you have more than 1/12 inquiries and/or 1/12 new credit cards (and this includes business cards as well, as they seem to be pulling D&B credit report for businesses). There’s numerous datapoints on reddit. Even on recon, they will read you the list of Amex business cards they see.
So I’d say go with Barclays if you can, as you’re almost certain to be denied lately by BofA whereas in the past they were fairly lenient. And having a banking account with them doesn’t seem to matter anymore either.
does Barclays give referral codes? (If I have the card and want to refer someone?)
AI says: No, you generally cannot hold both the Barclays Hawaiian Airlines card and the Bank of Hawaii (BoH) Hawaiian Airlines card at the same time. Barclays—the issuer for both—updated its application rules to prevent individuals from having both active consumer cards simultaneously, though you can hold one consumer card and one business card
I just tried to apply. Was told if you had the Barclays Hawaiian card in the past 24 months you are ineligible as it is a similar product. No credit pulled so maybe try if you aren’t sure.
That sucks, as I still have the Barclay card and opened it probably less than 24 months ago.
Thank you for the DP
Both wife and I had the legacy Barclays Hawaiian Credit card which gave 70k after one spend back in October 2024, since been closed. Will this card be considered as the “same”, and thus not eligible to open this card?
Applied for this card, having had the Barclays version. Was told I am not eligible because of having the barclays version. It said they are the same card now.
How long ago did you cancel the Barclays version, or is it still active?
Still have it.
I cancelled my Barclays version back in November, and got the same answer from trying to apply for the BoH version 2 months ago. Ineligible.
I just got approved last weekend 60k offer any chance can get them to upgrade to this offer?
Fyi i just called Barclays and asked to speak to a supervisor and even though just approved lower offer 5 days ago they will not match to new better offer or offer any one time courtesy points.
What are the churning rules on this? I got this card in early 2025 and cancelled it March 2026, four months ago. Am I eligible for the signup bonus again?
Likely not for 24 months
Nice. Hoping my wife and I can both swoop in and pick up an easy 140k total points. I already have both Alaska and the Barclay card. My wife just has the Ascent at this point. Up to the approval Gods.
Do you have to he a resident of Hawaii Hawaii to be eligible for this offer?
Nope.
What if you’ve previously had the Barclays card?
The language on the card specifically says your home address has to be in the state of Hawaii or you’ll be denied. Not to say it shouldn’t be attempted but I was looking at this in the last few days and saw 70k and reviewed the language. If it works then I’ll try…
I’m surprised. I’m not a Hawaii resident and I was approved for the card in early 2025. I wonder if that requirement was added later or if it is just not enforced.
If there is anyone who can confirm out-of-hawaii application approval for this card with the new bonus that would be helpful.
Yes – got approved, from CA. Barclays is the CC bank issuer
never had this card before. I did recently got denied BoA
Live in Georgia and got instantly approved on 7/19. Never had this card before and have only had the BoA Ascent card (approved on April 4th, 2026). Was worried about the hawaii address requirement but seems like after approval, it should be nothing to worry about!
Also worth noting, when I go to the rewards section, I do see the sign up bonus trackers in 2 parts, just as described on the application page.
