Paze in a daze: No more gift cards from Newegg

47

That didn’t last long.

A couple of days ago, the relatively new payment method Paze—brought to you by the company behind Zelle—launched an insanely good promotion that has the potential to be our Deal of the Year for 2026. Paze is giving $10 back when spending $10+ which, in and of itself, is a decent enough deal.

What makes it better is that there’s a limit of $100 back (i.e. up to 10 transactions of $10+). That’s not all though. That $100 limit is per card rather than per person. With participating banks including Chase, Citi, Bank of America, Capital One, PNC, and more, its potential lucrativeness is only capped by how many eligible cards you and your household have (and by how much you want to deal with numerous $10+ transactions).

But that’s still not all! One of the retailers that accepts Paze is Newegg and their site sells a wide range of $10 (and two $5) third party gift cards, so this was effectively free money if reselling the gift cards or a bunch of free shopping trips and/or restaurant visits if buying the gift cards for personal use.

“Was” being the operative word. That’s because even though the Paze promotion is still running—and is due to run through September 10, 2026—the most lucrative avenue for redeeming the offer has gone. No more Newegg.

Newegg Paze $10 gift cards

Newegg cut off the ability to buy gift cards using Paze last night. It was also announced that the separate 10X bonus Ultimate Rewards points promotion will no longer be earned on any Newegg purchases from July 1, 2026 onwards.

The elimination of the ability to buy $10 gift cards is a real shame as this was an incredibly lucrative opportunity. That said, it’s not at all surprising that it ended as there’s no way that Paze intended for it to be quite so easy to max out the offer across your whole suite of cards. That was naive of them, but at least the overall deal isn’t ending—only the ability to easily buy gift cards is.

So, what’s left? Doctor of Credit has a helpful list here. Included on there are options such as:

  • Newegg non-gift card purchases
  • Dunkin’ (includes when sending gift cards for now)
  • Domino’s
  • Sephora
  • Fanatics
  • Wendy’s

Even if you don’t feel like you need to buy anything from any of those retailers/restaurants, it might still be possible for you to put your credits to good use. For example, you could pick up donuts from Dunkin’ for your kid’s teachers or work colleagues.

Check with them ahead of time, but domestic violence and homeless shelters might happily accept a whole bunch of Domino’s pizzas in the evening. You could open multiple tabs of the Domino’s website on your computer, then quickly check out in each tab one at a time to ensure the pizzas are ready for you to pick up at roughly the same time. Same goes for Wendy’s, and Dunkin’ for that matter.

Do you have any family members or friends who’d appreciate a bunch of small items from Sephora? Similar for Fanatics.

A few nights ago—before the $10 Paze promo began—I noticed that Paze is accepted on at least some local restaurant websites that use Clover to process payments. That might be an avenue worth looking into if your favorite local joint uses Clover and they let you buy items online rather than in-restaurant, however tangible or intangible those items may be.

Just remember that you have to spend a minimum of $10 in order to trigger the statement credit. i.e. a purchase of, say, $9.79 won’t get you a $9.79 statement credit. The good thing is that taxes do count towards that $10 threshold.

With all the spending we have coming up, losing the 10x on gift cards hurts more than this offer tbh. A little disappointed that they made the error with the $10 back on $10, because I feel like if they hadn’t, the 10x offer might have gone on longer. Wish I’d bought more gift cards while I had the chance!

Ken

If I buy something from Newegg, around $11, would I still get 10 back from paze and chase? I have an item that I wanted to buy so it is like a discount

Dave

Still early but this could be deal of the year

Anthony

Can we still buy Newegg store gift cards?

Pierre

yes but it’s now a $50 minimum

Fay White

Which from NewEgg’s view doesn’t make sense. It’s free money to Newegg.

TTM

They probably face pressure from Paze

Paige

Clover restaurants list from Reddit: https://www.awardhelper.com/paze-restaurants

Jimmy

Wow, super helpful. I see a restaurant on there I used to go to twice a week for lunch when I was still working. Darn it, why did I have to retire?

Andrew James

This could stack well with 3x on dining for CSR

Oh this is gonna die now too lmao

Thanks for letting us know so we can move on to the other methods.

Andrew James

I only made two purchases… was waiting to get the credit on those purchases before going ham…

Gregg

I made a bunch on Dunkin’ app yesterday and am wondering when the credit will post.

Mandrake

From the promo FAQ (https://www.paze.com/offers#faqs):
“After your qualifying transaction posts, you’ll typically receive your $10 statement credit within 2 billing cycles.”

Paula Hamblen

I can’t find paze payment on Sephora

BRIAN

You sephora and paze email addresses need to be the same for paze to show up

Anthony

Can we buy Sephora gift cards?

JonR

No, Sephora gift cards have a different payment processor. I know because I tried yesterday. You would have to buy actual products.

Anthony

Maybe buying small items for $10 and returning for a store credit would work?

aggiemd

The hogs ended up getting the entire barnyard slaughtered this time. It happens but…sigh.

Aunteeeee

I made a Dunkin transaction this morning for $9.88. I thought I had selected the “round up” tip option, but something went wrong and I had to redo the transaction and it went through without the tip. I’ll remember next time.

Does the FM team have a rep with Paze that they can reach out to to confirm that Paze will be honoring the discount given to the Newegg purchases? I know everyone and there mother is quoting the Dan’s Deals conversation they had with their Paze rep, but I’d love it if it was confirmed by more than one single rep.

It’s been confirmed to other bloggers who have more consistent about updating their posts about everything.

Checkout Dans Deals he’s got a great write up and keeps updating it.

Both the 10x Chase promo and the $10/10 transactions promos felt like the poster children for “deals to good to last.” I feel like this comes up all the time, having to be ok with jumping on the good deal when you see it. Glad to have grabbed what we did!

JonR

Yes, I definitely agree. It was like the PayPal buy now pay later deal from last year but that actually lasted longer than this one did.

Melissa Victorine

No dice for me on Dunkin too

Isaac Moore

Any idea on if Sephora gift cards would work here?

Megan

Won’t work. Tried it this morning. Purchases of goods should work, but I can’t even get those transactions to go through either.

Megan

Got regular Sephora transactions to go through so yay for free mini makeup.

Anthony

What about buying a bunch of $10 items and then returning them for store credit?

Pablo

P2 and I are still able to purchase gift cards on Dunkin’s App…

Kathleen

Do you have two separate Dunkin accounts? I’ve having difficulty setting up P2’s

Pablo

Yes – one for me and one for P2.

Whitney

i kind of wish they didn’t have the $10 promotion that it went wild and eventually kill New Egg gift card. Because the New Egg Airbnb gift card Paze path was such a great way to earn points for Airbnb stays.

Harold

exactly. its very amusing to me how the masses had a month to play with paze and didnt even realize how good it was until the $10 for $10 promotion came. wish they never started that one

Grant

It was rational for most people not to hit Newegg hard before the $10 for $10 promo. We had months and most people aren’t interested in maxing out the $1500 per month.
