On August 1st, 2026, Bilt Rent Day will feature a status offer with ALL Accor whereby Bilt members can pick up elite status with ALL Accor by transferring Bilt points. The number of Bilt points required and the corresponding status with ALL Accor depends on your level of Bilt elite status. This certainly could be worth it if you intend stay at Accor properties.
The Deal

- Bilt members with no status or Silver: match to Accor Silver when transferring 5,000 Bilt Points (which become 3,333 Accor points, which are worth €66.66)
- Bilt Gold: match to Accor Gold when transferring 5,000 Bilt Points (which become 3,333 Accor points, which are worth €66.66)
- Bilt Platinum: match to Accor Platinum when transferring 15,000 Bilt Points (which becomes 10,000 Accor points, worth €200)

Quick Thoughts
ALL Accor does not get much attention in the blogosphere because points are worth a fixed amount towards stays. That fixed amount is two euro cents per point. The transfer ratio from Bilt to Accor is 3:2, which means your Bilt points are worth about 1.52 cents per point when used toward Accor stays, based on the current exchange rate of €0.01 = $0.0114. While it’s impossible to get outsized value with Accor points, one of the key advantages is that you can book any room type and use points to cover your room, either at booking or at checkout (though you may want to head to checkout early, as Greg ran into an issue where the email verification code he needed to use points at checkout didn’t come through immediately). You can also use points to cover things like dining and spa charges, etc.
For those unfamiliar, Accor has a huge footprint outside the US, with brands like Fairmont, Sofitel, Mövenpick, Novotel, Ibis, Ibis Styles, SLS, SO/, and many more. The US footprint is small, but in Europe and Asia, Accor has strong coverage. One rarely discussed program feature that can be particularly handy for family travelers is that some hotels offer a “Family rate”, whereby you get a 50% discount on the room rate for a second room.
This month, on August 1st only, you can increase value a bit further with a status offer that depends on your status with Bilt and the need to transfer some amount of points as follows:
- Bilt members with no status or Silver: match to Accor Silver when transferring 5,000 Bilt Points (which become 3,333 Accor points, which are worth €66.66)
- Bilt Gold: match to Accor Gold when transferring 5,000 Bilt Points (which become 3,333 Accor points, which are worth €66.66)
- Bilt Platinum: match to Accor Platinum when transferring 15,000 Bilt Points (which becomes 10,000 Accor points, worth €200)
Matches to Silver and Gold will be valid for 12 months from activation (the activation link will arrive within 48 hours of qualifying transfer) and have to be activated within 30 days, so you don’t need to activate immediately unless you’re about to stay at an Accor property. Matches to Platinum will be completed within 5 business days (with no need to activate) and will be valid through December 31, 2027. The nice thing here is that the match doesn’t require you to have other hotel elite status, and you don’t lose any value in the transfer. Elite status is a nice added benefit.
According to the promotion landing page, Silver status can be extended through December 31, 2027 after 3 stays and Gold can be extended to the same date with 8 stays, but it doesn’t state a timeframe for the stays. The Terms & Conditions link on the landing page leads to January 2025 Bilt Rent Day terms. Under that offer a year and a half ago, the stay window was the entire year (through December 31, 2025) in order to extend for an additional year. Assuming this offer is similar, I suppose you’ll likely have 12 months to meet the stay requirements to extend. Maybe Bilt will update the terms and conditions between now and August 1st.
Accor elite benefits are a bit less robust than some other programs, with Silver members receiving a free welcome drink and late checkout based on availability. Gold members add the potential for early check-in and free upgrades. Platinum status adds lounge access and two suite night upgrade certificates, which could certainly come in handy. If I had Bilt Platinum status, I would almost surely take the match here as I would seek out a use of the suite upgrades that, when combined with the value received in terms of points, would make for a nice win.
It is worth noting that Accor appears to be in the midst of a big push to expand reach. We’ve recently seen Amex Platinum cards in the United Kingdom and Canada add Accor Gold status as a card benefit after launching transfers to Accor in those countries. We don’t yet know whether Amex will add Accor points transfers or status for US card members, but Accor does seem to want to build interest in the program

Oops, wish I’d read a little more carefully…I feel like a “if you’re Gold or below and have an AMEX platinum, you’ll probably find this month’s promo useless…” would’ve been a good intro, because I suspect quite a few of your readers fall into that bucket. Accor Platinum lounge access benefit is not to all Accor lounges. Fairmont Gold lounges are excluded. The article implies all lounges.
FYI: ALL Accor won’t extend a status you have already. So if you have Gold, you can’t extend Gold with 8 nights. I tested it, the points transfer still goes through, and the rejection comes from Accor’s activation page, the final step of the process.

What’s the likelihood of Accor Platinum status being beneficial as a status match play with another program in the next 18 months?

I think you mean QR. The thing about that status match is that it requires a flight on Qatar metal (which I think needs to be a paid/revenue fare).

No. Which is yet another reason why some consider this month’s promotion to be ‘lame.’
One thing to keep in mind is Accor Platinum is MUCH better in Asia than Europe. Europe gives you no breakfast benefit at all, and there are very few lounges in Europe. For an upcoming London trip NONE of the Accor affordable but nice business hotels have a lounge. In the US there are ZERO lounges at ANY Accor hotels open to Platinum members (the lounges are “Fairmont Gold” which are only accessible to Diamond members). In Asia, however, lounges are widespread and it’s free breakfast for two every day so Platinum gives you both breakfast and some sort of evening possibly dinner-like thing.
Since I go to Asia every summer I think the Platinum match looks reasonably worth it even if we use it just for a couple nights. For Europe it’s much less compelling.
Nothing special. Free breakfast is part of the asian hotel culture and easily found without status.

We love Fairmont’s- we”ve stayed at multiple Iconic Fairmonts in Canada along the historic Canadian Pacific Railway Banff Springs/Lake Louise/Fairmont Hotel Vancouver as well as the spectacular Fairmont Le Château Frontenac in Québec City.
We are almost Accor Gold from past stays (Mostly FHR/Renowned/EDIT and even StayVancouver bookings – a mix of standard and Gold (lounge) rooms – upgraded to epic suites multiple times.
Still have Fairmont Palliser and Fairmont Empress in BC/Alberta for the Western Canada CPR RR Hotels. Then

Accor has a pretty decent footprint.
In the past year, I’ve stayed at 3 different Accor properties (all Fairmonts) that were quality stays. Two of those were very solid, and the third was exceptionally delightful. Although Bilt isn’t really a thing for me, I’m keenly interested to see what else Accor has planned.

We Love Fairmont’s all have been excellent but Chicago Millennium Park (4☆) was just nice – but not on par with the Canadian 4☆/5☆ properties.

To maintain Qatar tier status, there is a requirement to fly on *its* metal. Non-starter.
While Accor has a huge geographic footprint, 1.5 cents per transfered point at Accor is bad. While Hyatt has a poor geographic footprint, 1.5 cents per transferred point is absolutely the way to go.
I’ve ‘learned to stop worrying and love the (Accor).’ However, I must still throw ample shade at BILT for now a 7th month in a row, still “Coming Soon” on the fake Blade, Blacklane BILT Cash redemptions. Folks, there’s gonna be a glut of unusable B$ expiring. Tell Ankur to extend expiration, add more than 5 Accelerators, or finally make ‘coming soon’ a reality.

The freakin’ post is about BILT and Accor. Pardon my jacking-around, Jack!
Bilt can transfer to both Hyatt and Accor. And, the value of the transferred Bilt point is roughly the same in each hotel program. The author states that Accor is under-mentioned. My question is why? Yes, the variable value of Hyatt allows some cherry-picking. But, on average, Hyatt points redeem for about the same as Accor points. So, when the topic is about transferring points to Accor (from Bilt), why does it seem to get poo-poo’ed. Seemingly, because we owe our loyalty to Hyatt. This mantra pervade blog commentary.
I think you half answered your own question there, though. Hyatt provides the opportunity to cherry-pick for better than 1.5 cents per point in value. I personally rarely redeem Hyatt points for a value of only 1.5 cents per point, and I’m attracted by the potential to get 2 cents or more per point out of Hyatt points, whereas Accor doesn’t offer any of that potential upside. The flip side is that they don’t provide the potential downside of a poor redemption, which is going to be of varying value to you depending on your circumstances.
A significant additional part of the reason why many award travel enthusiasts get more excited about Hyatt is because of elite benefits. Free breakfast, free parking on award stays, lounge access, and solid milestone rewards like confirmable suite upgrades (each valid for a stay of up to 7 nights) and free night certificates make the program far more interesting than what Accor offers, which is essentially a straight cash rebate on stays. Yes, they do have the two suite night upgrades and lounge access at the Platinum level, though I’m not sure what percentage of their properties even have a lounge, and there’s no free breakfast otherwise. To my knowledge, you can only earn those two suite night upgrades, whereas you could earn far more with Hyatt, and each one you earn can get you into a suite for up to 7 nights.
Hyatt also has a US credit card that allows for earning towards elite status with credit card spend, which can reduce the number of nights you need in a hotel to get there. I don’t know of a similar shortcut with Accor.
Hyatt points have also traditionally been far easier to accumulate in useful quantities, thanks to 1:1 transfers and a multitude of cards with intro bonuses and bonus categories where you could easily be earning 3-5 Hyatt points per dollar spent. It is far harder to earn as many Accor points.
And then there is just plain familiarity. Many folks in the US are far more familiar with Hyatt than with Accor. Within the US, I think there are far more people who could explain the difference between a Hyatt Place and a Hyatt Regency than those who could explain the difference between an Ibis, an Ibis Budget, and an Ibis Styles. To be clear, I’m not saying that many Americans would immediately know the difference between a Hyatt Place and a Hyatt Regency, just that far more are far more familiar with Hyatt brands than with Accor brands. As a result, there is more familiarity with the Hyatt footprint. Even as a blogger in this space, I couldn’t tell you the difference between a, Delano, a Mondrian, a Mama Shelter, a Mantis, and a Mercure, which are just a few of the 40+ Accor brands. Is Movenpick “nicer” than Mercure, or the other way around? What about Grand Mercure? While there’s something to be said for selection, I don’t easily know which of those brands are the ones that would appeal to me, whereas I do know with a Hyatt or IHG or Hilton or Marriott which brands appeal to me and which don’t. I think that lack of familiarity creates an uphill battle for Accor in drawing US-based customers.
I think there are a number of pieces of the World of Hyatt program that overall make it more appealing to more people in the US (particularly to those who would earn Globalist status).
That said, as stated in this post, Accor is certainly a reasonable option, and there are certainly benefits to the consistent point value, particularly when you consider that points can be used to pay for things like breakfast, spa treatments, other food/drink, the exact room type you want etc. It is a program that definitely can be decent. I’m saying in this post and in this comment that Accor certainly can be worth considering (I transferred points to Accor earlier this year!). But if you’re questioning why many people in this space are more interested in Hyatt than in Accor, I think you’re missing a lot of clear distinctions. Should that make Hyatt “better” for you? Of course not. Do I look at Accor as being “better” than Hyatt? No — I value breakfast/lounge access/free parking/4pm checkout/milestone rewards/the relative ease of earning Hyatt points.
I think Nick covered it, but Hyatt used to be 2-3 cents per point (variable); recently, there were some major devaluations, so think Hyatt values in flux (maybe closer to 1-2x). However, Accor’s points are literally pegged at 1 cpp, like, no variable, so that’s where this is a little different, comparing the two programs. As for the post, it was definitely BILT-focused, because of the August month promotion.
