Quick Thoughts
This is all great news—both the addition of Qantas as yet another Rove transfer partner, and the launch of a 50% transfer bonus to kick off the partnership.
As a reminder, Qantas is an existing transfer partner of Amex Membership Rewards, Citi ThankYou, and Capital One miles. Having a fourth major transferable points currency added to the mix gives you even more options if you want to book awards using Qantas’s loyalty program.
The best transfer bonuses we’ve ever seen to Qantas from other transferable points programs are a 33% bonus from Capital One back in 2019 and a targeted 30% bonus from Amex Membership Rewards, also back in 2019. Other than those, all other transfer bonuses have been for either 20% or 25%, so a 50% bonus is superb and makes booking awards with Qantas a potentially far more compelling option than normal seeing as it slashes the number of Rove Miles you need to transfer in by a third.

It takes forever for Rove miles to post. They also won’t give you the miles as a courtesy if the vendor doesn’t honor the click-thru and purchase.
Emirates and Singapore please.
Wake me up when that award availability actually returns, please. Until then… zzzzzz…
