Southwest cardholder promo: Earn 30% bonus points on all spend (Also Companion Pass eligible)

Southwest runs promotions every quarter that reward cardholders in some way. This new quarter’s spending offer has now opened for registration and to celebrate the 30th birthday of Southwest credit cards, they’re offering 30% bonus points on all purchases through the end of September, with all the points also being eligible for Companion Pass qualification.

Key Terms

  • To be eligible for this bonus offer, you must register between 7/1/2026 12:01 a.m. ET and 9/30/2026 11:59 p.m. ET (“Promotion Period”).
  • Use your Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card to make at least $3000 in purchases during the Promotion Period to earn 30% in Rapid Rewards bonus points on total spend on purchases made on your Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card during the Promotion Period, up to 20,000 bonus points. For example, if you spend $3000 you will earn 900 bonus points.
  • So long as you register during the Promotion Period, purchases made during the Promotion Period will retroactively count toward the required spend.
  • The 30% bonus is in addition to the points you already earn with your Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card.
  • The 30% bonus points will count toward Companion Pass qualification but will not count toward A-List or A-List Preferred qualification.
  • Please allow up to eight weeks after the end of the Promotion Period for the bonus points to post to your Southwest Rapid Rewards account.
  • Only the Rapid Rewards Member who received this offer from Southwest Airlines is eligible for this promotion.
  • Chase is not responsible for offer fulfillment. Bonus points will post directly to your Southwest Rapid Rewards account and will not appear on your credit card statement.
  • To qualify for this bonus offer, your Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment.

Quick Thoughts

Note that this promotion is offering a 30% bonus on the points earned from Southwest credit card spend—it’s not awarding 30X points per dollar. Still, earning 30% bonus points is a pretty good reward, especially considering the points are Companion Pass eligible.

You have to spend at least $3,000 in order to get the 30% bonus points, with the bonus capped at 20,000 points. That means you’ll max out this spending offer when earning a total of 66,667 points through spend.

This cardholder offer might be targeted. To be able to register for it, you’ll need to be logged in to your Southwest account. If you see a yellow ‘Register Now’ button, it means you’re targeted. If you don’t see it after logging in, it sadly means you’re not targeted.

After clicking the link in this post and signing in to my SW account, I’m able to see the offer t, but there’s no link to register. Anyone else having that problem?

If you don’t see the yellow ‘Register Now’ button, it means you’re not targeted I’m afraid.

haven’t gotten any of these year, had to do a couple bookings on SW hotels to make sure we hit CP for next year
