There is a new targeted Amex Offer out this morning good for Amazon.com. My account was targeted for an offer of 1,000 Membership Rewards points after spending $200 or more, though Doctor of Credit reports that some people are seeing an offer for the same number of points but requiring $500 in spend.

Quick Thoughts
This may not be appealing to you if you ordinarily buy Amazon gift cards from a store with a good bonus category on one of your credit cards. I’ve been buying some Amazon gift cards when I go to the grocery store, so I do have a handful of cards lying around that earned a greater return.
On the other hand, I don’t always like to use gift cards on purchases where extended warranty or purchase protection might matter. For example, I bought a projector last fall and it started to glitch on me a bit over the holidays. I ended up being able to return for a replacement, but I intentionally used a credit card rather than a gift card to pay for that since I knew it was possible that I’d need purchase protection. Given my positive experience with Amex purchase protection last fall, I’d be inclined to use an Amex again for the right type of purchase.
In my case, I found this offer on the Business Platinum card. Getting a total of 6x on a $200 purchase (1x for the purchase plus the 1,000 bonus points) is a nice return on spend, so I’ll be happy to put this one to use before it expires. It’s also great that it can be used up to 3 times – I’m sure I’ll likely max that out.

OT but I had an offer of 1,500 MR points for wireless telephone services pd online using my business card to spend $150 or more in one or more transactions, up to 3 times by 7/9/21 up to 3 times.
I haven’t seen this mentioned as a AmEx offer yet.
I got $500 offer on blue business. Like philly380 I have the $25 credit for $500 spend on that card as well. So, basically 2,000 points plus $25 on $500 spend versus 2500 UR points by buying a $500 card at an office store. Close but Amex is a bit better.

I’ll stack that with $25 off on $500 spending on my Amex blue biz 2X. So gift card route might works better for me unless I get lucky with Xbox x console
