CLEAR Concierge service is available at a couple dozen airports in the United States. My wife received a targeted email offering 75% off her first Clear Concierge arrival service. That can make it a great deal as it looks like it’ll cost just $25 after discount for Clear Concierge arrival or departure service or $50 for Clear Concierge arrival service. Either way, you get a dedicated representative who helps you with your bags and guides you through the airport to get where you’re going. I can certainly see the appeal, particularly if you have a tight connection or you’re concerned about long airport lines, particularly at these discounted price points.
The Deal
- CLEAR is targeting some members to get 75% off their first CLEAR Concierge booking, which drops the price for departure service to $24.75 for a group of up to 5 passengers or arrival service to just $49.75 for a group of up to 8 passengers. Check for an email from CLEAR with the subject line “CLEAR Concierge Arrival Service is Now Live.”

As you can see in the screenshot above, Departure Service includes:
- An ambassador who will meet you at the curb when you arrive
- Help with your bags and check-in
- Guidance through Security, potentially to your gate or lounge (though it looks to me like there’s an up charge if you want a walk all the way to your gate upon departure)
Arrival Service includes:
- Meeting you at your arrival gate
- Helping you with your carry-on and checked luggage
- Guiding you to ground transportation, assuming you’re leaving the airport
Alternatively, if you’re connecting, the Arrival Service can guide you to your onward gate. I don’t know whether that would include, for example, a ride on a golf cart, but at the very least, it would reduce the stress for someone who is unfamiliar with getting around the airport.
The services seem relatively reasonably priced, with Departure Service costing $99 for up to 5 people and Arrival Service costing $199 for up to 8 people before the discount. With the targeted 75% discount, it means that departure Service is less than $25 and arrival Service is less than $50. That’s a good enough deal that it makes me want to give this a shot just to see how smoothly it works.
Note that while service is available at the airport codes listed above, you’ll need to be either on a domestic flight or on a flight with pre-clearance in order to take advantage of CLEAR Concierge service. I have a flight from Europe back into Boston Airport in August, but since that is not a pre-clearance flight, I couldn’t book arrival service for that particular flight.
According to the frequently asked questions, CLEAR monitors flight arrivals and will automatically adjust based on a flight delay (if your delay stretches beyond the hours when CLEAR is available in your airport, then they will automatically cancel and refund you). It also sounds like they’ll be flexible in the case of flight cancellations, though note that the CLEAR cancellation policy is 24 hours in advance if you’re cancelling by choice.
While these services are certainly not necessary for many travelers, I can totally see the appeal for someone who is a little less familiar with airports and/or someone who is on a tight schedule or anticipating a busy airport. I had a chance to try out a similar departure service offered by Plaza Premium in Toronto a couple of years ago. I thought it was incredibly convenient to have someone speeding you through the airport process.
An important note is that all of the adults in your group need to be CLEAR Plus members. If you’re traveling with somebody who does not have CLEAR, you can’t book this service without getting them CLEAR Plus.

Nick, maybe it’s worth you trying as it’s your job to write about these things, but for me it was a waste of time and thankfully not money.
Gave it a go for a trip out of MIA. I got this for free as an AMEX Gold 60 promotion. Person meeting us was late eventhough we were texting and commuincating well in advance. We wound up checking our own bags. There was a TSA Pre-Check line next to where we checked our bags that seemed quick, but I wanted to see what this was about so we waited for this guy to show up.
He escorted us to a Clear line that was way further away and went through the regular clear line. It was relatively quick, but we did not skip anyone or were we expedited in any way.
For comparision I have done some arrival and deaprture services in other countries where they’re knocking over elderly women in wheel chairs and pushing babies out of the way… I’m joking of course, but these were truly expedited and VIP type experiences where lines were skipped or ignored all together.
This more felt like my uncle who works at the airport helping us to walk to our gate. Our uncle who was also late to meet us.
