United and Marriott have a longstanding partnership in a few different ways, such as additional bonus miles when transferring Marriott Bonvoy points and elite status with the other program when having high enough elite status in one of the programs.
There’s now a limited time new promotion that’s awarding both 2,000 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points and 1,500 bonus United MileagePlus miles.

- Registration for the Promotion is open between July 1, 2026, 12:00 a.m. EDT, and August 31, 2026, 11:59 p.m. EDT (the “Promotion Registration Period”). All travel (“Qualified Booking”), including Eligible Flights and Eligible Stays must be booked and travel commenced by September 30, 2026 (the “Promotion Travel Period”). The Promotion Registration Period and the Promotion Travel Period are together the “Promotion Period.” Promotion Travel Period is defined as July 15, 2026, to September 30, 2026, 11:59 p.m. EDT. Travel must fall within the Promotion Travel Period.
- A “Qualified Booking” consists of:
- “Eligible Flights”: (i) an Eligible Participant (ii) having an itinerary documented with a confirmation number, (iii) booked with money, (iv) completing a flight from such itinerary operated by United® or United Express®, and (v) travel that begins no later than September 30, 2026, 11:59 p.m. EDT. Flights booked with miles or “money and miles” are not eligible for this Promotion. Eligible Participants will earn 2,000 Marriott Bonvoy Points for each unique Eligible Flight when they have an Eligible Stay.
- “Eligible Stays”: (i) a stay by an Eligible Participant, (ii) of at least one (1) night at hotel participating in the Marriott Bonvoy program, (iii) with the stay commencing (i.e., arrived at the hotel) no later than September 30, 2026, 11:59 p.m. EDT, and (iv) paid for with money. Stays booked with points or “money and points” are not eligible for this Promotion. Eligible Participants will earn 1,500 United MileagePlus miles per Eligible Stay when they have an Eligible Flight.
- Eligible Participants who complete a “Qualified Booking” will earn 2,000 Marriott Bonvoy Points and 1,500 United MileagePlus miles.
Quick Thoughts
This isn’t the most rewarding promotion ever, but it’s worth registering if you’re eligible for it. To be eligible, you need Titanium or higher status with Marriott or Gold or higher status with United and have already linked your United and Marriott accounts. If you haven’t linked those before, you can do that here if you have United status or here if you have Marriott status. Remember to also register for this limited time promotion after linking your two accounts.
The way it works is that every time you have both a paid flight with United and a paid stay with Marriott, you’ll earn 1,500 bonus miles and 2,000 bonus points. The flight and stay don’t have to occur during the same trip, so you could take a United flight now and have a Marriott stay in several weeks time and still earn the two bonuses. Taking only two flights or booking only two stays won’t earn you any bonuses though—you’ll only earn the bonuses when having both a new flight element and a new stay element.

zero comments. not surprised. u have to pair every confirmation number w/ a stay. thats double the work. and the promo terms dont make that super clear unless u deep dive. the dates dont need to synch and u can just stay tons of 1 nites, but u gotta fly tons of short trips on UA to match the number of stays. which means this promo will never initiate extra work. pple will get the bonus “if it happens”.
