The Fluz app is offering up to 12% cash back on Carnival Cruise Lines egift cards. The percentage rate you get is based on payment method (you get the highest cash back rate when you pay using a checking account). This can be a solid deal if you’ll be taking a Carnival cruise.

The Deal

  • The Fluz app is offering a promotional increased cash back rate on Carnival gift cards depending on the payment method you use:
    • Get 12% back when you pay by checking account / ACH
    • Get 10.5% back when you pay by debit card
    • Get 9% back when you pay by credit card

If you’re new to Fluz

If you’re new to Fluz, new users also get three vouchers that can be used to save up to 35% on 17 different gift card brands including Chipotle, Uber Eats, Starbucks, CVS, Netflix and more. Each voucher offers a maximum cashback of $3.50, so it means signing up for the app can save you up to $10.50 on gift cards for services, stores or restaurants you’d might be spending money at anyway.

If you’re new to Fluz, here are our referral links. As mentioned above, you’ll received 3 vouchers when joining, while we’ll earn $5 after you make your first purchase.

Key Terms

  • Can buy between $100-$1,000 at a time
  • Deal terms indicate that a customer can buy up to $2,000 in these promotional-rate Carnival cards per day
  • Valid until August 3, 2022 or while supplies last

Quick Thoughts

Fluz terms for this deal indicate that you can purchase up to $2,000 per day in gift cards for the increased cash back rate while supplies last or until August 3rd.

Carnival gift cards can be used online to make payment for or towards a cruise. Additionally, I believe that these electronic cards can be added to your sign & sail account onboard. You can apparently also buy “cruise cash” that you can use on your cruise to pay for stuff like drinks, restaurant upgrades, and excursions — however, I’ve read that any unused cruise cash is forfeited, so I wouldn’t recommend buying cruise cash but rather using these to pay for a cruise or to load to your sign & sail account once onboard.

You may be able to do even better than this with the right grocery store / fuel point promotion, but this is pretty good for those who don’t have easy access to a better option. I was happy to see this deal since I have a cruise scheduled this fall thanks to the “free cruise” deal we wrote about last year.

[…] to 12% Cash Back on Carnival Cruise Line Gift Cards through Fluz: See this post on Frequent Miler for the details. Also, see my previous post on other ways to buy Carnival Cruise gift cards at a […]

FYI – aarp has carnival gift cards available for 10% off pretty much all the time.
Also, you can charge money to your account in the casino and simply cash it out whilst using the GCs to pay off the bill. If you add it on a slot machine there is no fee. Last cruise I used $8500 in GCs with no issues.

Hi Andrew, have you done this with any other cruise lines?

Doing 12 night Carnival cruise in Europe next summer in balcony for 4 (through the casino match program), but final payment not due until April 2023. Thoughts about if this saving $175 is worth paying off the $1900 now? Does the savings outweigh locking up the funds and having to nag cruise line for refund if something changes? Do cashback sites ever participate with Carnival?

IMO: no

If you pay for the cruise now and then cancel it within the refundable time window Carnival will refund your monies paid. No hassle. But the refund will come back to you in the form of payment. So if you pay with Carnival gift card(s), your refund will be in the form of another Carnival gift card. So you will have to use that on another future cruise.

And as another commenter pointed out, Carnival gift cards are ALWAYS on sale for 10% off at AARP Rewards. And also Allstate Rewards. And the AARP/Allstate deal is better than Fluz, because you can use your cashback credit card on AARP/Allstate so you get the 10% plus your cashback.
