(Update: Possible false alarm) US Bank Altitude Connect GigSky benefit may end 11/30/26

9

On a recent podcast episode about hidden gem credit cards, we extolled the benefits of the U.S. Bank Altitude Connect card. One of those benefits, which I have noted to be particularly good, is the ability to get a complimentary GigSky eSIM for up to 15 days / 5GB of data service abroad. While many Visa Infinite and Visa Signature cards offer the ability to get a single free GigSky eSIM, the Altitude Connect card allows for use of that benefit multiple times each year. Unfortunately, it looks like that partnership may end on November 30th, 2026.

Update: Commenters point out that similar language has existed for the past few years and the benefit has been extended. Hopefully, that happens again here!

The terms and conditions on the U.S. Bank Altitude Connect card landing page include the following footnote at the bottom of the page:

Footnote 5

Certain terms, conditions and exclusions apply. Please  for further card benefit details including full terms and conditions. In order for coverage to apply for Trip Interruption/Cancellation and Trip Delay Reimbursement, you must use your Altitude Connect Card to secure transactions. To register your flight for SmartDelay, visit . Please visit  to register for GigSky and for further details and full terms and conditions. GigSky benefit is redeemable through November 30, 2026.

As you see above, it looks like the GigSky benefit is only redeemable through November 30th, 2026. While it is possible that the benefit could be renewed between now and then, it sounds to me like it will probably end in November. That’s a major bummer, as that was a big driving force behind my recent decision to product change to the Altitude Connect card.

That said, the Altitude Connect card still has no annual fee and four Priority Pass lounge visits per year, which can be used to visit restaurants. It is still a solid card to keep in the sock drawer. Thankfully, I’ll get a chance to take advantage of the GigSky eSIM benefit several times this year before November 30th. However, it looks like that benefit will not continue on.

If you have other Visa Signature and Visa Infinite cards in your wallet, remember that you can activate a complimentary GigSky eSIM on those cards. See more details in this post.

I have had the card for a while and had no idea about this benefit. I’m in for one 15 day plan to be used in Germany next month. Plan is already queued up in the app. Cheers

Kevin

This benefit has been around since 2023. Each year it gets extended one year at a time. Don’t see any difference this time.

Award Wallet is also reporting this benefit is good until Nov 17, 2027.

i applied for one yesterday and this is the best benefit i used from my P2 card twice this year saving me atleast 50$ , i have tried to use the trip delay lounge access but has not really worked yet. i hope it does work as marketed.

Btw i wanted my P2 to apply a second connect card is it possible after 6 months?

Sean

For the past two years, it is has had similar expiration language. Shortly before the expiration date they have extended for another year. So we really can’t know either way, but this isn’t anything new.

someone said this benefit has been around since 2023, each time being extended for one year at a time. So not sure what makes it different this time around.

Also, Award Wallet and a few other people are saying it’s good through Nov. 11, 2027. https://awardwallet.com/credit-cards/free-gigsky-esim/

I’m a little surprised by your assumption here. Seems to me that it’s often a better than 50% chance these things renew. E.g. Chase instacart benefits had expiration dates that renewed and I think I recall a number of amex and others that often renew, though I don’t recall the specifics now. Why do you think this one is different? I know this is a no-fee card, but I am guessing Gigsky is giving this away for very little, if any, compensation. Also is the Gigsky deal with Visa Signature also expiring?

Asher

This time last year, it said “GigSky benefit is redeemable through November 11, 2025”: https://web.archive.org/web/20250728043535/https://www.usbank.com/credit-cards/altitude-connect-visa-signature-credit-card.html

The footnote only got updated with the new end date sometime after October 22, 2025 (and before November 12, 2025): https://web.archive.org/web/20251022144130/https://www.usbank.com/credit-cards/altitude-connect-visa-signature-credit-card.html

So I wouldn’t panic yet.

This is also one of the cool unique benefits from the altitude connect card. Not that its going to really turn the needle but getting access on a delay is great.
