We have previously covered the Wells Fargo Premier Autograph Visa Infinite Card, which is essentially a very slightly better version of the Autograph Journey card with very similar benefits, but a better introductory bonus. It was previously believed that the Premier Autograph card was only available to Wells Fargo Premier clients. However, we’ve recently had some data points in our Frequent Miler Insiders Facebook group from readers who have seen advertisements for the card while logged in to their existing Wells Fargo accounts, even though they are not Premier clients. A couple of group members have applied and been approved, so it doesn’t seem like a Premier account is required after all.

There is no public application page for the Wells Fargo Premier Autograph Visa Infinite card. We had previously thought that a Wells Fargo Premier account was a requirement in order to open a Premier Autograph card. Maintaining a Wells Fargo Premier account without fees requires keeping $250,000 in cash or investments with Wells Fargo.
Some folks had recently tested the waters on opening a Premier account without funding the full $250,000. Sure enough, shortly after opening a Wells Fargo Premier checking account, several people have been able to get the Premier Autograph card with its 100,000-point welcome offer without having met the $250,000 deposit requirement to maintain the Premier relationship long-term.
However, we’ve now had a few reports in our Frequent Miler Insiders Facebook group from people who don’t have a Premier account at all but who saw an advertisement for the Wells Fargo Premier Autograph card in their existing Wells Fargo accounts. The first reader to report it noticed it in the Wells Fargo app while logged in to a Wells Fargo Choice Privileges card. Another logged in via the app and saw the Autograph Premier by navigating to open a new account, then credit cards. Both of those readers reported being approved despite not having Wells Fargo Premier accounts, and both report that the card was available with the current 100,000-point welcome offer.
I have an ordinary Wells Fargo checking account, but I do not have an offer for the Wells Fargo Premier Autograph card in my account, so this seems to be targeted. However, the good news is that some folks have been targeted. If you’ve been interested in the Wells Fargo Premier Autograph card but thought you weren’t eligible, you might want to log into the Wells Fargo app if you have other Wells Fargo accounts and explore there for credit card offers to see if you get an offer for the Premier Autograph card. Again, the Premier Autograph card is essentially the same as the Autograph Journey, but with a better introductory bonus, better travel protections, and a Global Entry fee credit. You can read more about it in this post.

Are you eligible for the bonus if you’ve had the Autograph Journey in the last 48 months?
Yes DPs on Doctor of Credit of people getting both SUBs this year
Why are we still using the wrong colors for the photo of this card?
Certain credit cards from various issuers require a person to maintain a specific account type or relationship in order to keep that credit card. In the present case, will WF require a person to maintain a Premier relationship? If so and if the person doesn’t, will WF close or downgrade the credit card?
As the article states, people who don’t even have a Premier relationship are being offered to apply to this card and are being accepted, so it seems like Wells Fargo is not requiring a Premier relationship for this card.
I hope they accidentally offer me the Attune card.
That was me who had the Choice Mastercard and got the Autograph Premier approved without any other special accounts with them. Cool thing is that I added it to my Paze waller and am also being able to stack the Autograph Premier with my $10 Dunkin’ and $10 Sephora purchases 🙂
Did it just pop up in your account to apply?
When I logged into my Wells Fargo Choice Privileges Mastercard account on my desktop, it showed up as a little banner on the upper right corner of the main page. I applied on a Friday and heard around 3 business days later that I was approved.
What’s your 5/24? They usually enforce it.
I was at 4/24 when I applied
Thanks for responding.
Oh wow. I signed up for a Premier Checking account over the weekend just to get access to the application for the card. This morning I got an email that my Premier account was approved (I have not funded it yet). Sure enough, I went and checked under “credit cards” on the phone app and the 100,000-point offer was there. I applied and got the “pending further review” email. Hoping I get approved. My FICO is over 800 and I’m either 4/24 or 5/24. I’ve read that WF not as strict on the 5/24 so I hope that’s true.
Once I know if I’m approved or not, I think I’ll go cancel the Premier Checking account either way.
oh nice now this loophole will be gone soon then
The loophole to check your account to see if you are targeted? Seriously?
