There’s a new, alternate welcome offer available for the Chase World of Hyatt card that’s significantly better than the current widely available public version.
This new offer gets you 45,000 World of Hyatt points after spending $5k within the first three months, plus an additional 1 bonus point per dollar, up to a total of $15K in spend in the first 6 months. It’s worth noting that, as with most Hyatt offers, this one is shadily advertised as “up to 75,000” bonus points, but that includes the 15K points that you would normally earn at 1x by spending $15K on the card.
If you’re just looking for Hyatt points, the Chase Sapphire Reserve® card offers much more bang for the buck, since Hyatt is still a 1:1 transfer partner for Reserve cardholders. The offers are also appealing on the Sapphire Preferred® and Ink Business Preferred® cards, but remember that Ultimate Rewards points now transfer to World of Hyatt at a 4:3 ratio unless you have the Sapphire Reserve, Sapphire Reserve for Business℠, or were approved for one of the Preferred cards prior to 6/15/26.

Quick Thoughts
Here’s how the offer pencils out at different levels of minimum spend (not counting base spend:
-
- If you spent $5K only: 45K/$5K + 1x bonus for a total of 55K total points (~$825 in “value” based on our Reasonable Redemption Value for Hyatt points)
- If you spend $15K (which unlocks the card’s category 1-4 free night cert): 75K points + the free night certificate (total value: ~$1365)
If you’re just looking for the Hyatt points, it may be worth considering spending only $5k on the card, since the extra $10K in spend only earns an extra 20K points (including the base earnings). That said, if you would go for the free night certificate anyway, it makes sense to do it within the first 6 months so you can take advantage of the bonus.
The World of Hyatt card has other benefits that can make it a keeper. These include:
- An automatic 5 elite night credits per year.
- Ability to earn 2 elite night credits per $5K spend
- One anniversary, category 1-4 free night certificate per year
- Ability to earn another category 1-4 free night certificate after $15K spend.
Taken together, these will make it appealing to many folks who are invested in the World of Hyatt program.
- 5/24 Rule: You are unlikely to be approved for a new card if you have opened 5 or more cards (with any bank) within the past 24 months. Most business cards do not count towards that five-card total. Business cards that DO count include: TD Bank, Discover, and the Capital One Spark Cash Select, Spark Miles, and Spark Miles Select.
- 24 Month Rule: If you’ve had a card before, you can only get a welcome offer on that card again if you no longer have it, AND it's been more than 24 months since you last received a welcome offer for that card. This rule does not apply to the Sapphire Preferred and Reserve cards (see below). There can also be exceptions with some business cards.
- Sapphire cards: The Sapphire Preferred or Sapphire Reserve cards no longer have a family rule that prevents you from getting one if you currently have the other. However, both now have limitations that may prevent you from being eligible for a welcome offer if you've previously had the same card. In that event, you'll get a pop-up window telling you that you're not eligible, and you will be asked whether you want to proceed with the application without the welcome offer attached.
- Southwest "Family" Rules: Chase applies additional "family" rules to the Southwest cards. You're not eligible for the welcome offer on a personal Southwest card if you currently have one, or if you've received a welcome offer on any personal Southwest card within the last 24 months. This doesn't apply to business cards. You also can't be approved for the Southwest consumer card if you already have one open.
- IHG "Family" Rules: You're not eligible for the welcome offer if you've received one on any personal IHG card within the last 24 months. You also can't be approved for another IHG consumer card if you already have one open. You can have both an IHG personal and an IHG business card.
- Ink "Lifetime" Rule: You "may not" be eligible for the welcome offer on an Ink no-annual-fee card if you have ever had the same card or any other Chase for Business card without an annual fee. In addition, you may not be eligible for a welcome offer on a Chase Ink Business Preferred card if you currently have the card or have had it in the past. We don't yet know how consistently this is enforced.
- 2 per month Rule: Most applicants are limited to 2 new cards per 30 days. Business cards are usually limited to one per 30 days.
- Marriott cards: Approval for any Marriott card is governed by a labyrinthine set of unintuitive rules. You can see the full eligibility chart here.
- Card Limits: Chase doesn't have a strict limit on the number of cards you can have, but it does place limits on the total credit it will issue across all cards. Because of this, reconsideration can sometimes be successful by moving credit from one existing card to the new card that you want.
- Application Status: Call (888) 338-2586 to check your application status.
- Reconsideration: If denied, call (888) 270-2127 for personal cards or (800) 453-9719 for business cards, and ask that your application be reconsidered.

Such a load of barnacles. They devalue the program in-half, then offer this silly extra. Just say no, folks.
Why go for this when the business version offers 60K for $5K? Seems like a better use of spend.
Lots of reasons: a free anniversary free-night certificate, 5 elite-night credits per year, some folks won’t get business cards, a lower annual fee…
The business card has other things to recommend it (I carry it personally), but I know lots of folks who just have the personal.
All that said, if it’s just Hyatt points you’re after, neither one is best.
With the new Hyatt Biz card offer today of 70K for $7K spend, it seems an even better deal now to get that card. 70K for $7K spend on biz or 75K for $15K spend on personal. Surely a FNC is not worth the extra $8K in spend. All I’m interested in is points accumulation (don’t care about elite nights) and I’m tapped out on other Chase UR cards, so I think for people in my similar boat, the Hyatt Biz is the way to go.
Welp, time to see if Chase will match the higher offer since I applied for this card less than 90 days ago…
Oof. Sorry, bud. Best we can do is tell you ‘nope.’ — Chase, probably.
Don’t forget referral offers from your friends and family!
You can’t refer to the Hyatt personal card, but you may want to check with Samantha R., Conrad R., or Justin, since you all seem very close.
The timing of the enhanced offer (and its coverage) was predictable.
