PayPal is offering a $100 Airbnb Gift Card for $95. That stacks with the 4th quarter Chase Freedom categories (which include PayPal), which gives you a 9.75% discount on Airbnb cards. That’s not amazing, but not bad if you’re somehow struggling to use up the Q4 bonus category.

Quick Thoughts
Again, the discount here is not bad, but neither is it amazing. That’s in part because you could, for example currently get $20 off of $150 at Office Max / Office Depot on certain Happy brand gift cards and then potentially use those at a retailer that sells Airbnb gift cards for a discount of 13.33% (plus 5% back with a Chase Ink Cash card for a net savings of 17.66%.
Of course, that relies on being able to use the Happy card to buy an AirBnB gift card, which will be a YMMV situation depending on your cashier. However, I’d still personally pass on this PayPal deal in favor of trying that, but if you need Airbnb gift cards right now this beats paying full price.
H/T: Slickdeals
A word of extreme caution with AirBnB gift cards: you can NOT apply them to an existing reservation. You can only use them for new reservations. Found this out the hard way last April, in order to use the $300 AirBnB gift cards I had, I had to cancel my existing reservation (all while on the phone with customer service who assured me this was the only way to use them) and rebook using my gift cards. Archaic and inefficient at best.
Yeah, Airbnb gift cards have a number of restrictions. You can’t apply them to existing reservations, only the lead person can use a gift card if you try to split with multiple people, and once they are applied to your account they can not be un-applied AFAIK. They don’t have the most customer-friendly gift card policies.
Are you talking Cashback Monitor, or something else? Thanks for the quick reply. I did also get a separate Email with a 5% off AirBNB sale for Black Friday, not sure if it is targeted.
I think you are asking BA shopping portal, which is British Airways shopping portal.
Hmm, can you stack with cashback portals? I see up to 10% at Giving Assistant, though not sure how reliable that is, or if you can pay with a gift card for the portal bonus.
Yes you can stack discounted gift cards with shopping portals, but I’ve never found Giving Assistant particularly reliable and it’s not clear what the inclusions/exclusions are on the Airbnb cash back rate. I’ve used the BA shopping portal with success.
