According to some commenters (see below), American Express will not give you this deal via the telephone unless you have been targeted. If you receive an error message when logging in, the chances are you most likely will not get the offer over the phone.
The American Express Business Rewards Gold card offer that I wrote about back in January has returned. As a reminder, here are the details:
- 75,000 Membership Rewards points after spending $5,000 in the first three months.
- Annual fee is waived the first year.
- Offer expires June 30, 2015.
To see if you are targeted for this new offer:
- Visit this page and login.
- Some people are reporting that they get an error when trying to login.

My 75k offer says 2000$ spend in 3 months
I am able to get to the application page, but it doesn’t give me a “sole proprietor” option, just partner and corporation. Plus it formats my social as a EIN. Can I do this on my SSN?
[…] Targeted American Express Business Gold 75k Offer Returns […]
I received the offer in the mail. 75K points for spending $10,000. After spending $5,000 they gave me 50K points. I am still working on spending the rest of the requirements. It’s a good deal, in my opinion.
I just got a $50k point offer, I asked about this and was told you need a code
Am I eligible for bonus if I had this card in the past?
Since it is a business card you should be eligible if you haven’t had one open within the past 12 months.
That’s great, thanks!
I received it in the mail. I recently applied and received two Chase cards (united and ink). I have two LLC and got one for each. Perhaps this is why Amex sent me one… but I got it.
I just completed all my min. spending on my CCs. Is this an offer I should jump on? I also received a 100k miles for Amex Platinum not too long ago but had too many cards that need min. required amounts for bonus award.
Thanks
Gaspare
Does the biz card get the $100 travel credit like the personal PRG?
amex is saying this is a scam and they are just trying to get your login and password. said they have had multiple calls.
Yeah this is old news and has been reported by many bloggers in detail. This offer only works for you if you have been targetted.Otherwise you get error message online and a rude response on phone.
Wouldn’t it be better if you tried the methods yourself before spreading the misinformation ?
If you look in the comments of the previous post about this, several people were able to get the offer. I did say it was targeted in the body of this post, so I’m not sure what else you are looking for.
I would not call it misinformation but I think a couple of things could be clarified. First, the title should say the offer is targeted. Second, it has been reported elsewhere that if you get the error message that means you are not targeted and if you are not targeted your odds of approval are probably not very good if you try to call but hey maybe you might get lucky but be prepared to be grilled on where you got the offer.
Thanks for updating the post. Amex seems to be trying to crack down on people applying for this offer. There was a post on another blog about how trying multiple times with the incognito trick is no longer working. I noticed this has happened to me as well. I was able to get a 75K/5k offer a couple of weeks ago or so but now all I can get is 25k/5k but there have been a few reports of success still using a VPN(I guess to spoof the IP). You would think with the loss of Costco and JetBlue Amex would try harder to attract more customers.
I got 75k/10k spend by just going to the current offers on phone, ymmv
S0,, does anyone have the code , or know where to find it ?
In my experience it is a waste of time to call in if you are not targeted for this deal. I tried this and I was told by the CSR that unless you have a code they will not give you the deal. She also said that AMEX is aware of the fact that bloggers are spreading around this link(I did not tell her that is where I saw the deal she just volunteered that information). If you are lucky maybe you will get a clueless rep but otherwise it seems like you are probably be out of luck if you are not targeted.
Fair enough. During previous deals people were able to get the deal via the telephone even if they hadn’t been targeted. I have updated the post with your experiences as to not mislead people.
How can you get targeted for the AMX gold 75,000 sign-up bonus?
