Aeroplan is currently running a promotion that’s giving 6,000 bonus points when booking one round trip or two one-ways on Air Canada for flights from the US to international destinations.
The Deal
- Earn 6,000 bonus Aeroplan points on select flights from the US to Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific countries, South America, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

- Eligible Scheduled Flight” means valid on a one round-trip flight or two one-way trip flights on an Eligible Fare, operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge and under the Air Canada Express banner, departing from an airport in the USA via Canada to an Eligible Destination. For clarity, a one-way trip consists of one origin and one destination (one bound) between an airport in the USA and an Eligible Destination within the Air Canada network with a transit stop via Canada.
- The departure of the first outbound trip must commence in the USA to be eligible for this Offer.
- Flight redemption bookings and bookings made with a combination of points and cash are not eligible for this Offer.
- Eligible Scheduled Flights must be the subject of a new booking, created for the first time during the Offer Period, with a new booking reference number. Any booking made prior to the start of the Offer Period that is subsequently changed to include travel dates within the Travel Period will not be considered a new booking that is eligible for the Offer.
- This Offer cannot be combined with any other offer or promotion, including points earned in conjunction with the Aeroplan Elite Status bonus, which are expressly excluded from this Offer.
- Bonus Aeroplan points awarded through this promotion will count towards Everyday Status Qualification as part of Aeroplan Elite.
- Bonus Aeroplan points awarded are not Status Qualifying Miles (SQM).
- Bonus Aeroplan points will be credited up to six weeks after the Eligible Scheduled Flights have been flown.
Quick Thoughts
It’s not going to be worth booking a paid international round trip flight or two one-ways with Air Canada just for the sake of 6,000 bonus Aeroplan points. However, if Air Canada is the cheapest and/or most convenient option for the flight(s) you need to take, earning 6,000 points is a nice little bonus as that’s more than enough to add on a free stopover on a future award flight.
Note that registration is required and flights have to be on Air Canada metal – codeshare flights aren’t eligible.
