Singapore Airlines is out with its latest “Spontaneous Escapes” discounts, with this month’s deals available to book until 8/31/22 for travel between 9/1/22 to 9/30/22 (though note that the US to Frankfurt route is blacked out from September 1-8). While this month’s list is pretty weak overall, the Premium Economy deals between New York and Frankfurt and both coasts and Singapore may be worth a look.

Quick Thoughts
On the surface, this month’s deals aren’t exciting — it is one of the thinner lists I’ve seen for premium-cabin travel. While planning for the 3 Cards 3 Continents challenge, I had considered waiting to make some arrangements because there have historically been some really solid deals, particularly when connecting the dots between Singapore and destinations in Asia, Australia, and South Africa. I’m glad I didn’t hold off waiting for this list as the options for business class awards are pretty underwhelming.
However, for those based in North America, the Premium Economy deals may still be appealing. Flights between New York and Frankfurt for 36,400 miles one-way in premium economy class seem like a decent deal given the excellent on-board experience you’re likely to have with Singapore Airlines. Particularly for a daytime flight back to the US, getting some extra legroom and decent in-flight entertainment for a small premium over what most airlines charge in economy class could be appealing.
Flights from San Francisco and Los Angeles to Singapore for 52,500 miles one-way in Premium Economy are also probably a decent deal, but keep in mind that those deals are only valid departing the US (not in the other direction).
By contrast, New York (sort of) has deals in both directions. New York (JFK) to Singapore is available for 56,350 miles in premium economy, with Singapore To Newark (EWR) available for the same price. That’s not exactly “round trip” and it isn’t a screamin’ deal necessarily, but if you’re looking to travel next month, it may be appealing, particularly in a time where award space has been pretty limited across the board.
