Ugh. Coach. Thanks, but no thanks!
Huge thanks! First time booking a mistake fare, if it isn’t cancelled it will be our first time to Australia. I have the email confirmations already, with e ticket numbers, when can I trust the airline won’t cancel?
I’m finding a bunch of seats in July from JFK to SYD and BNE for under $600. But my family is unenthusiastic. I can’t blame them. They’ve been to Australia and know it’s an over-rated and over-priced destination (blasphemous, but I tend to agree). It’s also not the place you want to pop into — especially if you’re flying coach — for less than 2 full weeks. I don’t really mind long haul coach flying, but even I find Australia to be a long trip from the Eastern US in coach.
That said, anyone who hasn’t visited and has the time should go and see for yourself. Try to get out of the cities, even though places like the outback are also over-rated in its own way. At least the exchange rate isn’t horrible these days.
