New York City restaurant week is on through July 31st. Mastercard is once again offering a deal for cardholders: register your card and get $10 back on $45 or more up to 3 times during restaurant week. Given the fact that participating restaurants are already offering somewhat discounted menus, that can make for a decent deal. This caught my eye since I’m in New York City right now, but keep in mind that this is not valid on Saturdays — Restaurant Week discounts are offered Monday through Friday at all restaurants and Sundays at some restaurants.
The Deal
- New York City restaurant week is offering set price meals ($30 / $45 / $60 depending on the meal and restaurant) at select restaurants in New York City through 7/31/22.
- Additionally, Mastercard is offering $10 back on $45 up to three times when you register your Mastercard and use it to make a purchase in-restaurant.
Key Terms
- Available from Monday–Friday.
- Exact meal (lunch and/or dinner) is based on restaurant.
- Saturdays are excluded from the program; Sunday participation is optional and varies by restaurant.
- Please check individual restaurant websites for further details.
- Please visit nycgo.com/rw for a list of participating restaurants.
- Beverages, gratuities and taxes are not included in the NYC Restaurant Week price, unless otherwise noted by the individual restaurant.
- Must be 21 years old to consume alcohol, and valid government-issued identification is required.
- Individual NYC Restaurant Week price offers are intended for one person and cannot be split among multiple people.
- Some restaurants may have a slightly higher NYC Restaurant Week price if they choose to include a mandatory gratuity.
- Please reference individual restaurant sites or call for further information to confirm the offered price.
Quick Thoughts
Participating restaurants offer complete meals for $30, $45, or $60 — prices will vary by restaurant and some are available for lunch or dinner or both.
It won’t be a deal in all cases, but I have had some luck with restaurants I’ve tried because of restaurant week events. I have of course had some less-than-great meals also and value surely varies from one restaurant to another. For example, I just looked at one restaurant where the lunch menu includes one starter and one sandwich for $30 — and the cheapest option on each menu would only come to $28 at regular prices, but the most expensive of each would come to $44, making the $30 menu a better deal. Stack it with $10 back on $45 if you’re buying lunch for two and that’s a solid deal for most of the menu options.
Relatedly, I imagine that if a participating restaurant sells gift cards, the Mastercard offer will likely work on those if you purchase in-restaurant Monday through Friday. I don’t know for sure that would work, but I bet it would.
This obviously only makes for a good deal for those in New York or visiting before the 31st, but if you are or will be in the area, it could be worth looking for an opportunity to use this deal.

Deal dead. This just showed up via email:
Here’s hoping they at least honor charges already made.
Okay, just got $10 payouts on last week’s charges … fastest I have ever seen Citi Premier and Barclays Aviator pay out for an offer.
