As today marks the start of the second half of the year, those with newly reset Dell credits may be happy to see that Rakuten is offering up to 12% back at Dell Technologies, which can alternatively be 12x Membership Rewards points per dollar spent. While I’d hold off for fall holiday sales on a card I intend to keep through the end of the year, I’ll probably make a purchase today on a card that I may not keep that long.

Quick Thoughts
Do note that the rate varies here from 10x on laptops and desktops to 12x on accessories, servers, and monitors.
I’ve got an Amex Business Platinum card that I may not keep open long enough to take advantage of the fall holiday sales, so I’m leaning toward buying some more Pixel Buds wireless earbuds today since we can almost always find a use for those — either as gifts or when one of us inevitably loses a pair — and it will give me a chance to make sure I use up this credit. I personally prefer the fit of the Pixel Buds Series A (the cheaper ones), though the noise cancellation of the Pixel Buds Pro admittedly has its pros. It isn’t as good as noise cancellation on over-year Earbuds, but I actually like that as I like to be able to hear if my wife or kids need me for something while simultaneously cutting some of the edge off of the noise level that kids inevitably produce.
Whatever you may consider purchasing, I suspect that the increased rate here will be appealing given the timing. Those who have a card that they have enrolled in semi-annual Dell credits have a fresh set to use for July to December, so earning a nice return while making sure to knock out that spend early in the window could certainly be of interest.
Looks like it was only a 1 day deal. It’s already dead.
Not even quite a day, died before midnight east or west coast. Looked at making Dell purchase this evening and it was back down to 5X already.
is there usually a deal like this around amazon prime day too? i know dell usually has some good sales at that time to compete…
