If you have Dell credits to use, today may be a good day to knock out a planned purchase given that shopping portal Rakuten is offering 15% cash back or 15x Membership Rewards points per dollar spent in many categories. Note though that rate is 8% back / 8x Membership Rewards points on desktops and laptops (though that’s still an increased rate that’s pretty good).
The Deal
- Earn increased rates when shopping at Dell after clicking through from the following portals:
- 15% cashback /15x Membership Rewards – Rakuten
Key Terms
- Expiration unknown
- Note that the increased rate only applies in some categories
Quick Thoughts
A payout like this can be worthwhile if you’re planning to make a purchase, though note that Dell has been cancelling orders on those who make too many separate orders within a six-month period. It seems best now to place one order even if you need to split tender over multiple credit cards.
Of key importance here is recognizing that the increased payout is not available site-wide. It works in most categories, but most notably the payout is actually 8% / 8x in laptops and desktops.
I hate that Dell sometimes splits categories apart and sometimes offers a cash back rate side-wide. It means that you always need to check the details / exclusions. That said, these payouts are quite good even in the laptop / desktop categories. If you’ve been thinking about making a Dell purchase, this could be a good day to do it.
Thanks for this find. Found a good deal for a cheap back to school computer for my son.
Are the Xbox gift cards ever going to come back on Dell?
Always appreciate these notices. Alas, my purchase of a power bank resulted in only 2x points.
Hard to argue that’s not an accessory…
Given how bad Dell’s tech is, in general and specifically related to processing cash back, I imagine varying cash back by category is only going to create more headaches.
I decided to wait till the holiday weekend… hopefully will go up to at least 12%.
Dell cancels all my orders since they have labeled me as a reseller. Any suggestions on how to place orders? Has anyone been able to get a Dell business account?
Once you six month period resets you should be able to get a new set of six orders through. I have also been able to get a second set of six orders through shipping to a secondary address on a separate account. They don’t seem to care if you use the same card/ billing address across accounts in that case.
Series X selling for 475 (with 75 Dell credit back) could be good use for this
stack with the amex offer for dell
Is that considered an accessory?
yes it tracked as accessories for me
