Frequent Miler's latest team challenge, Million Mile Madness, is happening now! Follow us as Greg, Nick, and Stephen compete to earn 1 Million SAS miles by flying 15 airlines before November 23rd. Who will complete the challenge with the most Speed, Affordability, and Style?

Follow along here!

Last week it was a 75K offer, but now The Points Guy has uncovered an even better application link for the Citi Executive AAdvantage card: Earn 100,000 miles after $10K spend.  Plus, earn $200 in statement credits.  The $450 annual fee is not waived, but you do get AA lounge access so this could be a great alternative to joining the AA Admirals Club.  You can also earn 10,000 Elite Qualifying Miles after $40K spend.

The Points Guy has the details here.

New reader, really like your posts–very informative about traveling and collecting miles. Just got an AA MC November 9, is it too soon to apply for this one?

Frequent Miler

How many cards did you get in November? If just one, then you should be fine. If you signed up for a lot of cards, it might be worth waiting for 91 days from the previous app.

Ann Marie

i just applied last week for the same card, but only 60,000 miles, dang! They told me to call and if i didn’t call it might delay the process. However the very next day I got an email that said I was approved and the very next day the card was at my door!

deltagoldflyer

@Ann Marie – call and ask them to match the bonus. I have had many reader as well as comment in TPG post that Citi is doing this!

Big Dog Tickets

I called Citi. They wouldn’t match it exactly but told me they’ll give my 95,000 miles for spending $9,500 in 3 months. They wouldn’t increase the statement credit from the $100 to $200 though. Better than nothing.

Frequent Miler

95K — that’s a weird number, but yes much better than nothing.

Frequent Miler

When I finished the application, it said to call 800-695-5171.

Zack P

Thanks. I’m sitting this one out but had a friend apply/call and they told her she’d have to wait another week. Bummer

I got Citi AA Visa approved in Nov 2013. Will I be able to apply for this card?

Frequent Miler

Yes, as long as it wasn’t the Executive AAdvantage card ($450 annual fee), you can qualify for this bonus.

Frequent Miler

I just applied and was told to call in. Very simply phone conversation. Approved on the spot. Agent verified the 100K offer plus $200 statement credit (based on making $200 in AA purchases)

Ben Mattalino

when was the last time you applied for and received an AAdvantage card. Is this considered a sepperate product from their platinum card? Its been since September for me, should I be able to receive the bonus on this card?

Frequent Miler

Yes, this is a separate product from the platinum card so it doesn’t matter when you applied for the platinum card.

Zack P

Hey Greg, what phone # did you call to get your app approved?

yk

I just applied and received a message that I will receive a response by email within week, There was no option to call.

Tom Runs

I don’t believe the $200 credit is restricted to AA spend? I thought it was any spend.

Frequent Miler

That’s correct, the $200 statement credit is for any spend. The agent who processed my application gave me incorrect (but plausible) information.
