Every year, on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, American Express runs a promotion called Small Business Saturday in which they reimburse cardholders for shopping at small businesses. In the past, Amex has reimbursed $25 for a single purchase of $25 or more for each registered Amex card used at a small business on that day. Last year, they dropped the reimbursement to $10 for purchases of $10 or more. This year, Small Business Saturday is back and better than ever. Here are the improvements:
Earn $30 per Amex card
This year, the terms & conditions allow for 3 $10 statement credits per Amex card. That means it is possible to earn $30 per card!
Enroll Bluebird and Serve
Last year, Serve was included in this promotion, but not Bluebird. This year, the terms & conditions allow for both Bluebird and Serve.
I will follow up shortly with a complete post on how to maximize this promotion. Stay tuned!

This could be big considering that I have now mastered the multiple browser or is that trick even required? But it is nice that they will let me use my SERVE and the one that is on the way (48 hours after Bluebird closure no less)…………
Is it possible just to buy $10 gift card at the stores that participate in Shop Small? I didn’t see any prohibition against it in the T&C.
Yep. I’ve done that many times during past Small Business Saturdays. You could also buy, for example, a $30 gift card and ask to pay $10 at a time.
Do you know when we can start signing up?

Any idea on Amex cards not issued directly from Amex? (ie Fidelity, WF, etc)
nrdk, I was able to register and use my Citi AA Amex card in last year’s and the year before’s Small Business Saturdays, and they worked fine.
