[…] 20% Transfer Bonus from SPG to AAdvantage: 20K = 30K […]
Does it automatically apply after transferring? Since I still see 1:1 for American Airlines on SPG.com
The bonus is being given by American so you won’t see it on the SPG side.
Is this a better transfer than to Aeroplan? It seems there present promotion is for about the same bonus?
Yes they are about the same with Aeroplan giving 29K in the end. Aeroplan is Star Alliance which generally is better to Europe, so it may be more useful for some people.
Looks like a pretty good deal, but AA is hard to book awards on. I think I’d rather have 25K on UAL then 30K on AA. Anyone have a different experience?
COmpletely Agree. AA is almost impossible to redeem on decent itineraries. Im wondering if this strategy is paying off for them, as it’s gone on for over a year.
I read 20k => 29k
20k SPG => (20k * 1.2) + 5k AA
Great deal anyways.. Good way to transfer out SPG to hedge against the uncertainty with the Marriott takeover.
You earn 20% on the amount that posts to your AA account which is 25K. 25K * 1.2 = 30K. This is confirmed on the bonus page.
