Delta is having an unannounced flash sale with great deals on economy class travel to Europe or to Mexico / the Caribbean. Most of the travel dates are during off-peak times, but the mileage prices are still pretty darn attractive if you’re looking to use your SkyMiles and get away. There are some dates with decent pricing available in premium economy to Europe or “first class” to Mexico/the Caribbean, but economy class deals follow.
The Deal
- Delta flash sale with economy class flights to Europe from 22K SkyMiles round trip or to Mexico / the Caribbean from just 12K SkyMiles round trip
- Dates / routes available vary
Quick Thoughts
You’ll have to play with dates and routes a bit to find availability, but there are certainly some deals to be had. For example, here’s a look at dates in November and December from New York – JFK to Zurich, Switzerland, with some dates available for 22,000 miles plus $57.40 in taxes. Note that availability varies by day (so it might be worth checking 4-day trips, then 5-day trips, 6-day trips, etc to find the best deals).
For example, here is a 4-day trip in November/December from New York to Zurich:
But there is a lot more availability at 22K round trip for an 8-day trip:
If you are instead interested in Mexico and the Caribbean, there are cheap deals out of New York to a number of destinations this fall and winter. Here is availability from New York to Cancun for just 12K miles round trip plus $80 in taxes.
Other cities are available for a bit more as well. For example, here is Boston to Cancun for 18K RT.
I even came across a date here and there out of smaller regional airports. For example, I found one set of dates with Albany to San Juan for 20K round trip. It’s worth taking a look even if you don’t live in New York or other Delta hubs.
