It has been reported on a number of blogs that the Citi ThankYou Premier 50K signup bonus is set to end today and our previous link stopped working. However, we have found a link from Doctor of Credit that is still showing a 50,000 point signup bonus (after making $4,000 in purchases within the first 3 months) and inserted it into our Best Credit Card Offers page. If you are interested in this card, now may be your last chance for the 50K signup bonus for a while. Remember that Citi will not give you the signup bonus if you have opened or closed another ThankYou card in the past 24 months.
As a reminder, here are the card details:
Citi ThankYou Premier Card
The Offer
- 50,000 ThankYou points after making $4,000 in purchases in the first 3 months
Key card details
- Earn 3X on travel (including gas stations)
- Earn 2X on dining out and entertainment
- Earn 1X on all other purchases
- $95 annual fee is waived for the first year
Bottom line
If you are still on the fence about whether or not to apply, there might not be much time left on this offer. That said, you should consider its value as compared to the Citi Prestige 75K offer (though note that the Prestige offer requires nearly double the spend — See: Planning for Citi Prestige 75K and Premier 50K offers for more info/analysis). The Premier could certainly make sense for those who are put off by the high spend requirement and annual fee on the Prestige card and those who spend heavily on gas and value ThankYou points highly. Indeed, Citi has added some valuable partners over the past few years, most recently adding Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles this week as a 1:1 transfer partner. Fifty thousand ThankYou points can certainly be valuable with the right transfer partners and Turkish adds a new option for booking Star Alliance awards (albeit an option with which most of us are still pretty unfamiliar). Note that if the ThankYou Premier link does not show the signup bonus, you may want to try opening it in Incognito/Private mode and/or clearing your cookies.
