A new Amex Offer came out over the weekend good for +9x Membership Rewards points per dollar spent at Uber Eats up to 1800 bonus points. That’s a fantastic return if you have the offer available.

Quick Thoughts
I didn’t see this offer the first couple of days that it was reported, but I did find it this morning on several cards. I was disappointed not to see this on the new Platinum card to try to stack the return with the monthly Uber credit on that card (Update: As Cory points out in the comments, one doesn’t need to pay with the platinum card to use that credit). Still, the return here is quite strong.
That said, this time of year often sees opportunities to pick up discounted Uber gift cards. Depending on how much you value Membership Rewards points, you may prefer to keep your eye out instead for opportunities to save 15% or 20% on Uber gift cards (whether via sales at warehouse clubs like Costco or with fuel points promos like those happening at Kroger and other supermarket chains this week.

If you have this offer on an Amex Gold Card, youll get +13 points since it normally earns +4 on dining.
Tag on an additional 4x via Rakuten (if using MR for cash back) for extra sweetening the pot.
If I load a gift card will that impact my platinum credit by using the gift card credit prior to my more limited platinum monthly credit or does the shorter term AMex platinum credit get deducted first?
They use the Plat credit first.

This is not necessary.
I use three plat credits per month, all at once, and pay with my gold card for 4x on the rest. The charge does not have to be made by a platinum card.

How do you get the plat credit using the gold card? Are you splitting payments or is there a trick I’m missing?
