Alaska Airlines shopping portal promo: Earn up to 1,000 bonus miles by 8/4/25

A couple of days ago, the Southwest and United shopping portals launched new bonus point/mile promotions. They’ve now been joined by the Alaska Airlines shopping portal, although the bonus miles on offer are a little lackluster.

The Deal

  • The Alaska Airlines shopping portal is offering the following three-tiered promotion:
    • Spend $150 & earn 300 bonus Mileage Plan miles
    • Spend $350 & earn 600 bonus Mileage Plan miles
    • Spend $550 & earn 1,000 bonus Mileage Plan miles
  • Direct link to offer.

Key Terms

  • During the “Back-to-School Bonus” offer, which runs from 7/16/2025 through 8/4/2025 at 11:59:59 pm ET (the “Bonus Period”), Member will receive a one-time bonus of up to 1,000 Mileage Plan bonus miles on qualifying purchases made through the Mileage Plan Shopping mall or from purchases made through Mileage Plan Shopping in-store offers.
  • This one-time bonus award will be determined using one of the following tiers, based on Member’s cumulative qualifying purchases made during the Bonus Period: Tier 1 bonus: 300 miles for qualifying purchases of at least $150; Tier 2 bonus: 600 miles for qualifying purchases of at least $350; or Tier 3 bonus: 1,000 miles for qualifying purchases of $550 or more.
  • “Qualifying purchases” do not include returns, cancellations, shipping and handling, taxes, gift card or other cash equivalent purchases, and certain products that are not eligible for bonus miles. Please see the Mileage Plan Shopping site for details on product eligibility and other restrictions.
  • Please allow up to 10 weeks after the Bonus Period for bonus miles to post to your Mileage Plan Shopping account.
  • The Tier 3 bonus provides the maximum number of miles that will be awarded.

Quick Thoughts

This isn’t the most rewarding promo ever offered by the Alaska Airlines shopping portal seeing as the absolute best you can do is earn an additional 2x bonus miles per dollar when spending exactly $150.

Still, if you were going to be shopping via the Alaska portal anyway, the bonus miles on offer are a nice little bonus. Don’t forget that the Alaska portal also has an in-store card-linked feature, with those purchases also counting towards the spending thresholds. That could be particularly useful seeing as CVS is currently an eligible in-store retailer and should stack with earnings via the JetBlue TrueBlue portal.

Also remember that the bonus miles you earn from the Alaska shopping portal count towards elite-qualifying mile (EQM) earnings for those seeking to earn status. You earn 1,000 EQMs for every 3,000 redeemable miles earned through partners such as the shopping portal, so if you max out this later promotion, the 1,000 bonus miles will get you 1/3 of the way towards your next batch of 1,000 EQMs.
