Quick Thoughts

500 bonus miles on $200 spend isn’t the most generous offer ever, but it’s still a nice bonus if you’d be shopping through the Alaska portal anyway.

An added benefit of these promotions through the Alaska portal is that the 500 bonus miles do count towards Elite Qualifying Miles (EQMs). As a reminder, you earn 1,000 EQMs for every 3,000 miles you earn with partners including the shopping portal.

The Alaska shopping portal also has a card-linked in-store feature, so spend inside those eligible stores can also count towards the $200 spend requirement – not just online spend.
