When the new Alaska Atmos Ascent and Atmos Business credit cards launched, the initial welcome offers we saw were to earn 80,000 Atmos Rewards points after meeting minimum spending requirements on each of them. We have since updated that initial post to indicate that there is an 85K offer available on the Ascent card. Last week, we also saw the launch of a new 85K offer on the business version of the card.

Quick Thoughts
This is only a 5K bump over the initial opening offer, but it remains a great offer for those trying to collect as many Alaska Atmos points as possible. A side benefit here is that a Bank of America business credit card would not add to one’s 5/24 count, which might be an advantage over consumer cards for those trying to limit consumer card applications.
While I would normally recommend focusing first on earning transferable points before airline-specific points/miles, Alaska is a potential exception. It is not easy to accumulate Alaska Atmos points since the only transferable currency with which they partner is Bilt Rewards (which aren’t very easy to earn en masse either).
Keep in mind that for the time being there are quite a number of Atmos-related credit cards on the market. At the time of writing, the Hawaiian Airlines credit cards are also still available (and Hawaiian also earns Atmos points now), so it is currently possible to rack up a lot of Alaska Atmos points over multiple new credit cards. Speculation had long been that the Hawaiian cards would eventually be discontinued. That may still happen, so I might recommend starting there if you haven’t yet opened the Hawaiian cards since the Bank of America Atmos cards will definitely be around long-term.

Thanks for all the detail on the 2/3/4 rule etc. that you provide on the atmos card page 🙂 Thanks also for the 85k link.
I’m laughing that the application has a required field for “promo code.” It wouldn’t let me leave it blank. I just put my Atmos number in it again and it seemed to work. As noted in your article about a week ago, there’s no referrals for the business card yet, either. There’s also no indication anywhere in the T&C what that “required” field is for. It’s a mystery.
I checked the terms, but didn’t see anything about whether current Alaska Airlines business cardholders are not eligible for this new card?
Similar situation. P2 current hold the business card in 2/25 and I got the sub last year in May 24 and since canceled. Can either of us still get the sub on this card?

I asked ChatGPT, things look good for going forward. They included info from reddit and this: . Business Card Eligibility (Bonus & Application)
Oof, please don’t rely on chatgpt for credit card advice, or any other advice really…
I got a 2nd biz card under a separate LLC, even though I already have the Atmos Ascent and an existing biz card, and this was 15 minutes after I’d been approved for the Atmos Summit infinite visa. I have 4 Alaska cards now.
The trick is to have a deposit account with Bank of America and be under their application rules (see the FM post on that subject). I’d opened a checking account with them 2 days before for the purpose of getting these two offers.
