(More links needed) Amex Platinum 150K referral offer is back again and we need your links!

15

Update 2/28/24: Earlier today, referral links for the 150k offer expired. The good news (for some) is that other people are now targeted for the ability to refer to the 150,000 Membership Rewards welcome offer on the personal Amex Platinum card.

If you’re one of the lucky ones, we’d love to use your referral link on our Best Offers page so that you can earn up to 100,000 Membership Rewards points. Instructions for how and where to leave your referral link on the Facebook referral thread can be found at the end of this post.

Important: Please only leave your referral link if it always displays the 150k offer. If it only shows it in some browsers some of the time, unfortunately your link is ineligible and it’ll be deleted from the referral thread. A good way of knowing if you’re targeted for this ability to refer to the higher offer is that when you obtain your referral link it’ll specifically state that you’re able to refer to the 150,000 points offer. If it says your friend can earn 80,000 Membership Rewards or some other amount that’s not 150,000, you’re sadly not targeted.

This is what you should see when generating a referral link. If it doesn’t say 150,000 for you, your referral link won’t be eligible even if it sometimes does display that higher offer

Here’s the original post.

The 150K referral offer for the American Express Platinum card is back again. This targeted offer gives 150,000 Membership Rewards points on $8,000 spend and is only available via referral. This is the offer you’ll find on our Best Offers page as it’s the best one out there.

This referral offer is also one of the best out there for a personal card. We’ll again be collecting reader referral links for those who were targeted so we can share them with others. The details on how to participate with your link (if you are targeted) are below.

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE REFERRAL LINKS IN THE COMMENTS – THEY WILL BE DELETED BY OUR SPAM FILTER

Quick Thoughts

This referral offer is targeted in that only some Platinum card holders have the ability to generate a link good for it — but the offer itself is publicly available to anyone applying through a qualifying referral link (like the one on our Platinum card page). Those Platinum cardholders who have the ability to generate a 150K link will see it advertised in the “refer a friend” section of their login — it shows the bonus that you’ll get as a Platinum cardholder and that your friend will get 150,000 points (whereas most of us only have a referral offer for 80K points for our friends).

Keep in mind that the Platinum card welcome bonus is not available to those who have or have had the personal Platinum or Charles Schwab Platinum card before. If you’ve only had the Morgan Stanley version of the Platinum card, you would be eligible.

We want your 150K offer referral links

Here on Frequent Miler, our Best Credit Card Offers page always links to the best available welcome bonus, even if that’s not an affiliate link. The Best Offer for the personal Amex Platinum card through affiliate channels is for only 80,000 Membership Rewards points. That’s why you’ll see many other points and miles sites hawking that inferior version.

However, we always present the offer that allows new applicants to earn the best available bonus, even when it doesn’t benefit our site through affiliate commissions. Seeing as referral earnings are limited to 100,000 points per person and that’s maxed out after just a few referrals, we want to share the wealth by using readers’ referral links on the site. We need reader links for the 150K offer.

If you’d like to have your referral link shared on the Best Offers page, here’s what you need to do:

Step 1: Check your referral link

You can find your referral link here, or by logging in to your American Express account and scrolling down to the ‘Refer A Friend’ link at the bottom of the page and clicking on that. Note that you might need to change your card at the top of the referral page so that your Amex Platinum card is selected.

Before sharing your referral link, please ensure that it generates a link to the offer giving new applicants 150,000 Membership Rewards points after $8,000 in purchases. Not all Amex Platinum cardholders can generate that superior offer, so it’s worth checking first. A good rule of thumb is that if you’d earn 30,000 points per referral from the link generated by your Platinum card, then your offer will likely be for the better offer…but please check regardless.

Step 2: Join the Frequent Miler Insiders Facebook group

If you’re already part of our Facebook group, you can skip this step. If you’re not a member though, you’ll need to join this group. Note that you’ll be asked a question or two (depending on if you try joining on mobile or desktop) to ensure you’re not a bot. Please answer that question(s), otherwise you won’t get admitted to the group in order to do step 3.

Step 3: Share your link on the dedicated thread

We have a dedicated thread set up to share your 150K link, so please only share your referral links as a reply to Stephen’s first comment on this thread. We’ll then work our way through the them for as long as this increased offer is only available via referrals. We will rotate through links there regularly to try to give as many readers as possible a chance at picking up a referral bonus.

Please don’t share your referral link as an individual post in the group as it’ll just get deleted. Please also don’t share a non-150K referral link as that’ll get deleted too.

Comments on the blog with links automatically get caught in our spam filter and will not post, so do not share your links in the comments here. Instead, that Facebook thread is the only place we’ll be accepting referral links (sorry if you’re not on Facebook).

I’m so happy I finally got this offer!

harv

yesterday my link when opened in Microsoft Edge Private window was for 150k. Today when opened in Microsoft Edge it is only for 100k. Guess I can’t post it in the dedicated link FB page.

Last night I got a pop-up for the $500+$100 Blue Business Cash employee bundle. Today, I have a referral link on the new card for the same $500 for $15k spend offer, but without the additional $100 cash back for $1k employee card spend.

Andy

Just FYI, if you want to properly test your link (to the best you can, anyway), it’s worth checking incognito and alternate browsers.

Mine showed the 150k offer in Chrome incognito, but 100k in Microsoft Edge. I’m assuming there’s some targeting going on with mine, so I don’t actually have a “good” link. Oh well!

Chaser123!

As the referrer. I love the ones with 5x extra on dining + the referral bonus. That was amazing last go around. I only got one referral last time but I didn’t pay attention to the 55k annual referral cap. Do you think those extra dining points are applied to the 55k annual referral cap?

Boo Boo Bear

I was able to see the 150K offer via incognito/private window. Obviously, a referral would be better to help someone else earn points.

I don’t know why I have been unable to generate any referral offers except for the Hilton Aspire for months. Have not received a referral in years so it’s not like I’ve maxed out.

Clara

same here, all my amex personal cards’ referrals are gone, except for the hilton card.

DaninMCI

Same here, No Platinum but only Bonvoy. You’d think Amex would want you to refer people to any card. I’ve never referred anyone before so it’s not like I was overusing it or something.

ross

I have both vanilla platinum and Charles schwab, but i cannot generate a referral link for vanilla platinum. I have the option to select CS, gold card and Marriott, Hilton but not the regular platinum.

Jerome

Hi Ross, Can generate one for CS platinum? I am looking to apply. Does it have a 150k referral bonus?

ross

Jerome,
CS platinum referral shows only 100k bonus.

Jerome

Thanks for checking, I am able to see 100k bonus through my account as well. Online i was able to find 150k bonus but only for the amex platinum card. Schwab people are stingy! I called schwab to match it, but they refused and Amex said they cant change the referral invite for amex platinum to CS platinum! 🙁
