American Express has increased the sign-up bonus on the Hilton HHonors Surpass card to 80,000 points after $3,000 in spending during the first three months. The $75 annual fee is not waived.
Normally the bonus on this card is 60,000 points after the same amount of spending. It has gone as high as 85,000 points in the past. Keep in mind that American Express limits you to one bonus per lifetime on personal cards, so you won’t be eligible for the bonus on this card if you have had it previously.

- 12X points at Hilton properties.
- 6X points at restaurants, supermarkets and gas stations.

Would it make sense to wait for the regular Amex HHonors card to go back up to 60k bonus with no AF? Seems like if you can wait for that, it beats paying a $75 AF just for an extra 20k points. I know the earning multipliers are a little different, but the no AF makes a big difference.
It could make sense and it has to do with your goals. If you are looking for a nice chunk of points, the Citi no annual fee HHonors Visa Signature has a 75K offer right now as well.

The Bonus Points are 60,000 not 80,000 as stated on your web site.
Hi Joyce. If you follow the link from the Best Signup Offers page above, you will find that the bonus is 80,000. I just confirmed that it is working.
I spoke with American Express today and was directed to the terms and conditions area on the Best Signup Offers page. It is stated there that the Bonus Points are 60,000. Please check it out. I directed them to your website….to no avail, as the page clearly states 60,000 points.

Is gold status granted when you open the card (or within a few days) or once you meet the min spend? Got a stay coming up and free bfast would be nice!

one bonus per lifetime on personal cards = 1 bonus for every particular card or 1 bonus even if you jump around and apply for different branded cards ?
