Low-cost carrier Level is offering flights from Boston to Barcelona from $92.70 one way or $208 round trip if you buy separate one way (or $215 round trip if you buy as a single round trip ticket) during January and February. The catches include that the cheapest prices require a trip of about 2 weeks and you’ll pay extra for bags, seat selection, and everything else — but if you can travel light, and possibly even next a couple of trips together, this could make for a cheap getaway.
The Deal
- Low cost carrier Level has round trip flights on sale from $92.70 one-way from Boston to Barcelona or $208-$215 round trip depending on how you buy
- Check prices at Google Flights. Here’s a link to example dates for $208 RT purchased separately.
Key Terms
- This is basic economy, so you’ll only get one carry-on and no free seat selection
Quick Thoughts
I once spent about 3 weeks in Barcelona in January. It won’t be beach weather at that time of year, but the weather was surprisingly mild compared to back home in the Northeast of the US. Lines for popular stops like Sagrada Familia and the various Gaudi houses were manageable, food was still delicious, and the flamenco bar we visited had enough people packed inside to keep it warm without any heat. While it obviously won’t be the same experience as a summertime trip to Barcelona, at this price it might not matter. Again, you’ll need to be able to travel light for this deal to make sense.
That said, at just $92.70 one way from Boston to Barcelona, this is crazy cheap.
Basic economy does include one hand bag. Again, you’d have to travel #40KFaraway style, but Greg, Stephen, and I proved that it can be done.
Overall, this is a fantastic deal if you can take advantage — even if booking one way for $93 and an award ticket home.
