Breeze Airways loyalty program changes are coming: Better than 1 cent per point of value, status tiers, buddy discount, & more

Breeze Airways is updating its Breezy Rewards loyalty program on January 1, 2026. There’ll be the opportunity to redeem points for more than one cent per point of value, elite status tiers will be introduced, you’ll be able to get a discount on a companion’s travel, and more.

Breeze Airways Breezy Rewards loyalty program changes

Breeze has a landing page detailing the updates here. Here’s a quick summary of what’s changing.

Better than one cent per point of value (potentially)

One of the sections states that you’ll be able to redeem BreezePoints for flights on Breeze:

Starting on Jan 1, 2026, see where your BreezePoints will take you by selecting “Book with BreezePoints” when searching for your next Breeze adventure.

That was a little surprising because you can already redeem BreezePoints for flights on Breeze. Since Breeze launched service, the points you earned could be redeemed for a discount on a future flight on a one cent per point basis. While that means it’s been impossible to get outsized value for your points, it has had a useful feature. You don’t need enough points to cover the cost of a flight, so if you have, say, 837 points, you can redeem those points for $8.37 of savings on your next flight if you want.

From January 1, 2026, that easy redemption method will still be an option. Breeze will also be introducing an additional award booking option which could get you even better value. We reached out to a Breeze rep who shared the following limited details:

BreezePoints are currently valued at one cent per point, however, beginning on Jan 1, with the launch of the new Breezy Rewards, BreezePoints may increase in value when redeemed for Reward Travel on certain flights or dates. In other words, we will never decrease the value below one cent and Breezy Rewards Members will have the opportunity to search for flights that help their BreezePoints go even further! Hope this helps.

This is great news because it means there’ll be at least some kind of opportunity to get outsized value for your points. The catch is that for this redemption option you’ll presumably need sufficient points to cover the cost of the entire flight, something that’s not necessary when redeeming for one cent per point of value.

Breezy Rewards elite status tiers

From the start of 2026, there’ll be four levels of elite status above Member level: Breezy 1, Breezy 2, Breezy 3, and Breezy Club.

Breeze Airways Breezy Rewards status tiers

As you can see, there anyone with status will get complimentary WiFi on flights, bonus points on paid flights, Zone 1 boarding or better, and one or more bundle upgrades. Those with Breezy 2 status or higher will also gain access to Priority Guest Support, as well as the ability to choose Breezy Select Benefits (more about that in a moment).

Bundle Upgrades can be redeemed on flights to upgrade to a Nice, Nicer, or Nicest bundle which offer increased legroom, a higher baggage allowance, etc. If you book a Nice bundle outright, you can redeem one Bundle Upgrade to Nicer, or two of them to get a Nicest bundle, provided you have sufficient Bundle Upgrades.

The Bundle Upgrades are valid for one person, one way. When redeeming them, you can choose which guest(s) to apply them to.

If you attain Breezy Club status by earning 120,000 BreezePoints in a calendar year, you’ll subsequently earn a another Bundle Upgrade for every additional 15,000 points you earn, with no limits on how many can be earned.

Breezy Select Benefits

Once you reach Breezy 2 status or higher, you’ll be able to select a Breezy Select Benefit:

  • Bundle Upgrade(s)
  • Bonus BreezePoints
  • Multi-use Buddy Discount

The number of Bundle Upgrades and bonus BreezePoints you’ll earn will be based upon the status level you’re earning. Similarly, the multi-use Buddy Discount can save you 25%, 50%, or 100% for a traveling companion depending on if you attain Breezy 2, Breezy 3, or Breezy Club status.

If you select a Bundle Upgrade or a Buddy Discount as your Select Benefit, it’ll be valid for the rest of the current calendar year and all of the next calendar year. For example, if you earn the benefit on June 2026, it’ll be valid through the end of 2027.

Multi-Use Buddy Discount

Speaking of the multi-use Buddy Discount, this has the potential to save you a decent amount of money if you frequently travel with a companion.

As mentioned above, it’s valid for the rest of the calendar year in which you earn it, as well as all of the next year. If you’re able to earn one early in the year, that’ll give you close to two years to redeem it. In reality, the number of BreezePoints you’ll need to earn a Buddy Discount will be substantial enough that it’ll likely be several months into any given year before you’ll have earned enough points to select this benefit option.

The Buddy Discount is very flexible because it can be redeemed an unlimited number of times in that timeframe, plus it can be used for any number of people. It’s not like Southwest’s Companion Pass where you designate your companion and only get to change that up to three times per year. Instead, with Breeze’s Buddy Discount you can nominate a different buddy each time in the event that you’re constantly traveling with different people. That makes Breeze’s version much more flexible in that sense, but not in another.

That’s because you can’t utilize the Buddy Discount if you’ve booked a No Flex Fare, booked an award ticket using points (the new redemption option), or redeemed points on a one cent per point basis. That means it’s only useable when you’ve booked a paid flight with a Nice, Nicer, or Nicest bundle. That inevitably means you’re forced to book more expensive fares which will cost you more if you wouldn’t otherwise have booked that a fare bundle.

Depending on your status level, your Buddy Discount will save 25%, 50%, or 100% on your companion’s fare, although taxes and fees will still be charged. For domestic flights on Southwest, you only have to pay $5.60 for your Companion. We’ve reached out to Breeze to ascertain if there’ll be a similar $5.60 fee, or if Breeze will roll some kind of other fees into this copayment too; we’ll update this post if they’re able to provide more information.

If you select a 25% or 50% multi-use Buddy Discount and subsequently reach a higher status level, you will be able to select a higher value Buddy Discount as your Select Benefit. We’ve also asked the Breeze rep about what the procedure will be in the event that you already have flights booked for a traveling companion (e.g. can the higher discount be applied automatically and the difference refunded, or will you have to cancel your buddy’s flight and rebook them?). We’ll update this post once we hear back from them.

~

Overall, this is a very positive development, especially for Breeze loyalists. It certainly seems like Breezy Rewards members are gaining new benefits, improved points redemptions, etc., with nothing seemingly being taken away right now. While there’ll inevitably be program changes in the future, for now it’s good to see genuine enhancements to a loyalty program.
