A new Amex Offer appeared yesterday offering 10% back when paying your cell phone bill. It appears to be highly targeted, but it’s easy money if you have it and has the potential to be stacked with other Amex Offers.

Cell Phone Amex Offer 10% $15 Back

The Deal

  • Get 10% back as a statement credit when paying your cell phone bill online directly with a US-based wireless telephone provider.

Key Terms

  • Expires June 15, 2019.
  • Limit $15 in total statement credits.
  • Offer valid only for payments for wireless telephone service charges made directly with US wireless telephone service providers via online, mobile app, or by phone.
  • Purchases made with third parties, authorized retailers or resellers are excluded.
  • Excludes purchases for VoIP, hardware, equipment, and bundled home/cable services.

Quick Thoughts

I sadly wasn’t targeted for this, so hopefully some of you have more luck. The limit of $15 in statement credits isn’t overly generous, but it’s still $15 in your pocket for a bill you’d have been paying anyway.

There are other Amex Offers relating to cell phones that could stack nicely with this one if you happen to have both of them on the same card. For example, there’s an AT&T Wireless for Business Amex Offer giving 10,000 Membership Rewards when spending $175. Chuck over at Doctor of Credit has a helpful post suggesting additional ways you might be able to stack offers.

[…] addition to the 10% cell phone Amex Offer we shared earlier, there’s a similar offer for paying your cable or satellite TV […]

I haven’t even checked if I’m targeted but I really love the way you guys track all this stuff. No way I’d be able to do it on my own.

George

I suspect that I’m not targeted for these because I already pay my cell phone bill with an AmEx card.

TJ Park

I doubt paying cell phone bill with your amex card regularly would make any difference. But you shouldn’t be using amex to pay cell phone bill anyways. There are many cards that either give you far more points (5x Chase UR) or better device protection (Ink Preferred, Citi Prestige) than what you get get by using any amex to pay.

TJ Park

Which actually brings up this question.. 5X chase UR points might be better than getting 10% off? if I value 1.5 cents per 1 UR point, that’s like getting 7.5% cash back, certainly less appealing than getting 10% cashback on top of 1 MR point per dollar on this amex offer. But with a right transfer bonus offer from chase and right redemption on a long hall premium class ticket you can get an out sized value out of UR points given the transfer partner choices you get with UR points.

Ashman

I got that and the cable offer on 2 of my everyday membership reward cards. Had a better 100 off 175 on at&t from delta card that can be used twice.

Thanks for the tip. It seems I am never targeted for item you post…but got it this time on on Delta Platinum. I’m using Total Wireless so will have to see if AMEX recognizes this. Of course my cell bill just renewed earlier today and added to card after the charge went through when I saw your post so I’ll have to wait for the April bill to see if it works.

Belinda

I have save 10% on my cable bill up to $15 max reward. On gold Amex. Thanks for heads up…I also am working on spend $1500 get $75 back on AF.
