Delta Australia / New Zealand business class starting at 120k each way (peak season)

1

Thrifty Traveler’s Premium service has discovered a decent smattering of Delta One business class availability at “saver” prices during the January-March peak season. Some of the dates that I was looking at had up to five seats available.

The cheapest route that I can see is LAX-Brisbane (BNE), which is priced at 120K SkyMiles each way. Delta cardholders get a 15% discount on award fares, so if you’re one of them, you can get a seat for only 102K…an incredible deal for flights that are usually priced at 300,000 miles each way.

If you’re interested, book now, ask questions later. These fares will disappear quickly.

The Deal

  • Delta has released multiple dates of business class availability between the US and Australia / New Zealand:
    • LAX to Brisbane (BNE) – 120k each way (102k for Delta cardholders)
    • LAX to Melbourne (MEL) – 160k each way (136k for cardholders)
    • LAX to Auckland (AKL) – 160k-180k each way (136k-153k for cardholders)
    • Can be booked with connections to/from many other US cities for an additional 15k-20k.

Available Dates

Below is the availability for each route, according to seats.aero. Note that some dates will undoubtedly be sold out since the last scan of Delta’s site (and some might become available).

My wife Erin and my first big journey together went around the world in 100 days for our honeymoon, a trip in which I had one car accident and got one speeding ticket in every country that we visited (I think that I may still have an arrest warrant in New Zealand for an unpaid ticket, but we’ll keep that between us). We currently live in Washington State; we own a winery, ski after work and hike as much as our elderly knees will let us.

Great find! United has similar pricing to/from Australia for these dates if you have a United card for 100k in Polaris
